          โครงการ HOOQ Filmmakers Guild เปิดตัวเป็นครั้งแรกในเอเชีย เพื่อค้นหาผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์ซีรี่ส์ในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ครอบคลุมประเทศไทย สิงคโปร์ อินโดนีเซีย อินเดีย ฟิลิปปินส์ มาเลเซีย เวียดนาม และกัมพูชา เพื่อก้าวสู่เวทีภาพยนตร์ระดับโลก ผู้ชนะเพียง 5 รายที่จะได้รับเงินทุนผลิตภาพยนตร์ซีรี่ส์ตอนแรก รายละประมาณ 1 ล้านบาท เพื่อออกอากาศผ่าน HOOQ โดยเรื่องที่ได้รับความนิยมสูงสุดจากผู้ชม และได้รับการคัดเลือกจากกรรมการ จะได้รับทุนให้สร้างภาพยนตร์ต่อจนจบซีรี่ส์มากสุด 13 ตอน

          "ในช่วง 2-3 ปีที่ผ่านมา รสนิยมของผู้ชมภาพยนตร์ได้ปรับเปลี่ยนไป นอกเหนือจากการชมภาพยนตร์จาก Hollywood ผู้ชมมีความสนใจกับการชมภาพยนตร์และซีรี่ส์ที่ผลิตขึ้นภายในประเทศของตนเองและในระดับภูมิภาคมากขึ้น ความสนใจกับ local content หรือภาพยนตร์ที่สร้างขึ้นในประเทศทำให้ผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์มีโอกาสในการผลิตงานเพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการในตลาดมากขึ้น ทาง HOOQ เล็งเห็นพัฒนาการนี้ในตลาด จึงต้องการมีส่วนร่วมในการ สนับสนุนผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์ในวงการและผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์หน้าใหม่ๆ โดยจัดโครงการ HOOQ Filmmakers Guild ซึ่งเป็นโครงการที่ต้องการเปิดรับไอเดียสร้างสรรค์ภาพยนตร์ในทุกประเภท ในรูปแบบซีรีส์ ดูกันได้หลายตอน ทำให้ผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์ได้แสดงความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และประลองฝีมือกันอย่างเต็มที่" อัลลิสัน ชูว์ ผู้บริหารด้านสื่อสารของ HOOQ กล่าว

HOOQ Launches HOOQ Filmmakers Guild in Search of Asia’s Film Directors Invests up to Baht 13 million to produce TV series



          HOOQ, the first and largest Video on Demand service provider in Southeast Asia, launches HOOQ Filmmakers Guild to provide a creative platform for filmmakers in Asia to produce online TV series.

          HOOQ's first Filmmakers Guild searches for filmmakers to produce a TV series in Southeast Asia covering Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia. The Guild offers filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their work regionally. Only five filmmakers will be selected and each winner will be awarded approximately Baht 1 million (USD 30,000.00) to produce the first episode of a series to be aired on HOOQ. The top filmmaker of the five, judged by the audience and a panel of international judges, will be awarded to produce the entire series, up to 13 episodes in total, or approximately Baht 13 million.

          "In the last 2-3 years, we notice a shift in what the audience watches. In addition to enjoying Hollywood and international content, they are demanding more local content, providing local filmmakers with tremendous opportunities to fill the content void. HOOQ recognizes this and wants to support regional filmmakers' efforts via the HOOQ Filmmakers Guild to welcome new creative ideas in any genre and support the selected work to be produced.           HOOQ Filmmakers Guild initiative is launched for the first time in Southeast Asia to give opportunity to filmmakers in Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia to raise their profile to the international level. An international panel of judges from participating countries will select five best submissions and they will be awarded with USD 30,000.00 or approximately Baht 1 million to produce the first TV series episode to be aired on HOOQ. The best of five, judged by the audience and the panel of judges, will then be given additional funding, up to Baht 13 million for 13 episodes maximum. Entries are accepted until August 15, 2017.
