10 สิงหาคม 2559 – ดีแทคจัดเครือข่าย 4G พร้อมรองรับการใช้งานเกมหรือแอปพลิเคชันทุกกระแสฮิต พร้อมเตรียมจัดทำคู่มือการเล่นเกมอย่างปลอดภัยและไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่ายเพิ่มด้วยความห่วงใยลูกค้าและผู้ใช้งาน

นายประเทศ ตันกุรานันท์ รองประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารกลุ่มเทคโนโลยี บริษัท โทเทิ่ล แอ็คเซ็ส คอมมูนิเคชั่น จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือดีแทค กล่าวว่า "จากการเปิดตัว Pokemon GO ในไทยตั้งแต่ 6 สิงหาคม เป็นต้นมา ในทางปริมาณการใช้งานดาต้าหรืออินเทอร์เน็ตบนมือถือทั้ง 4G และ 3G เมื่อเทียบกับภาพรวมแล้ว พบว่าทำให้มีการใช้งานดาต้ามากขึ้นกว่าปกติ โดยมีการใช้งานเพิ่มมากขึ้นในวันหยุดตั้งแต่ช่วงเช้าของวันเสาร์และอาทิตย์ที่ผ่านมา คือมีคนตี่นเช้าเพื่อมาเล่นเกมมากกกว่าการใช้งานอินเทอร์เน็ตบนมือถือในวันหยุดทั่วไป โดยดีแทคได้เตรียมพร้อมจัดทีมงานดูแลเครือข่ายมือถือล่วงหน้าตามคาดการณ์ และการให้บริการทุกรูปแบบอยู่แล้ว จึงทำให้รองรับทุกการใช้งานได้เป็นอย่างดีทั้งผู้ที่เล่นเกมผ่านสมาร์ทโฟน หรือผู้ที่ใช้งานทั่วไปไม่ว่าจะเป็นชมคลิป LIVE, ดูหนังฟังเพลงแบบสตรีมมิ่ง หรือคอนเทนต์ออนไลน์แบบความละเอียดสูง (HD), YouTube, โซเชียลมีเดีย อัพโหลด และดาวน์โหลดไฟล์ต่างๆ"

อย่างไรก็ตาม จากกระแสเกมฮิตและรูปแบบการเล่น Pokemon GO ดีแทคเป็นหนึ่งในผู้ประกอบการที่มีความห่วงใยต่อผู้ใช้งานเกมฮิตดังกล่าว และเตรียมจัดทำคู่มือแนะนำเพื่อให้ผู้เล่นได้เล่นเกมอย่างสนุก ปลอดภัย ระมัดระวังต่อการใช้งานและสถานที่ต่างๆ เช่น ไม่ควรไปเล่นบริเวณโบราณสถาน สถานที่ราชการ โรงพยาบาล สถานที่ส่วนบุคคล หรือสถานที่เปลี่ยวที่อาจเกิดอันตรายได้ เป็นต้น โดยเฉพาะเด็กและเยาวชนควรปรึกษาผู้ปกครองให้คำแนะนำ ทั้งแง่ความปลอดภัย เวลาการเล่นที่เหมาะสม รวมถึงการซื้อไอเทมต่างๆ ที่อาจจะทำให้เกิดค่าใช้จ่ายเพิ่มขึ้นได้

นายประเทศ กล่าวต่อไปว่า "สำหรับสถานที่ยอดนิยม PokeStop หรือสถานที่ผู้เล่นนิยมมารวมตัวกันเล่นเกมเป็นจำนวนมาก และมีการใช้งานดาต้าเพิ่มมากขึ้น พบว่าสถานที่ยอดนิยมในวันหยุดจะเป็นตามห้างต่างๆ เช่น สยามเซ็นเตอร์, สยามสแควร์, พารากอน ฯลฯ ส่วนวันปกติจะมีการใช้งานดาต้าเพิ่มมากขึ้นในพื้นที่มหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆ"

August 10, 2016 – dtac ensures its 4G network is ready for data traffic from popular games and applications and is preparing to publish a guidebook to provide safety tips and how to avoid extra charges - to express its care for customers and game players.

Mr. Prathet Tankuranun, Chief Technology Officer, Total Access Communication PLC or dtac, said, "Since the launch of Pokemon Go in Thailand on August 6, we have seen the rise in mobile data and internet usage on 4G and 3G networks, especially in the morning of the past Saturday and Sunday, during which people woke up early to play the game, causing higher data traffic than normal weekends. dtac has prepared a traffic monitoring team to ensure the network runs smoothly and can handle high traffic loads from game players and other data services, such as live videos, music streaming, HD content, YouTube, social media, and file uploads and downloads."

The current trend and popularity of Pokemon Go has raised some security concerns. As one of the responsible mobile operators, dtac is preparing to publish a guidebook that provides tips for Pokemon Go players to play the game with fun and safely and avoid unsafe places, such as historic sites, government properties, hospitals, private properties, or desolate locations. Kids should be under parental guidance, including safety tips, proper playing time, avoiding charges buying in-game items.

"PokeStops are popular places where players gather to play the game. PokeStops with high data usage over weekends are places such as Siam Center, Siam Square, Siam Paragon etc. Places with high data traffic during weekdays are universities" said Prathet.
