Lazada Launches New LINE Account to Engage Mobile Shoppers
Lazada, Southeast Asia’s biggest online shopping mall, launched its new LINE account ‘LAZADA.co.th’. Lazada is also offering special deals and offers via LINE, to engage with their mobile consumers who shop via their smart phones or tablets (Mobile Commerce or m-Commerce).
Consumers can also download a free “LAZ: The Happy Lion” sticker, for one month starting from September 23, 2014.
“We’re pleased to share that Lazada has 2.7 million friends on our new LINE account, within 24 hours after our official launch. We will use LINE to communicate and engage with customers who love to shop online via their smart phones and tablets, while rewarding our LINE friends with promotions and special privileges. We designed LAZ as a mascot that mirrors who we are as a brand, cheerful and confident with a positive attitude,” said Mr. Riccardo Basile, Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Thailand.
With online shopping growing rapidly, Lazada has been in the forefront of m-Commerce with three Lazada shopping applications on Android, Apple and Windows Phone platforms. LINE is a popular application with over 29 million users in Thailand, the third largest group of users in the world.
