Mercedes-Benz launches the new generation CLS with delivery set to start in October
Bangkok – Mercedes-Benz Thailand today unveiled the new generation four-door CLS Coupé and the new generation sporty five-seater CLS Shooting Brake, presenting an extensive revision of its CLS-Class. In their latest incarnation, both design icons are fascinating especially with their enthralling lines and a honed front section that looks more dynamic with a new and expressive diamond radiator grille. Their further upgraded interior combines contemporary luxury with passionate sportiness. Another highlight is the innovative MULTIBEAM LED headlamps that open up new dimensions in lighting systems. Delivery of CLS 250 CDI Exclusive at 4.49 million baht, CLS 250 CDI AMG Premium at 4.99 million baht, and CLS 250 CDI Shooting Brake AMG Premium at 5.09 million baht will start in October this year.

This includes enthralling lines of a coupé, MULTIBEAM LED headlamps, a new diamond radiator grille, which is usually found in New Generation Compact Cars (NGCC) of Mercedes-Benz and is now used in the new generation CLS in order to add expressive appeal to both models, a striking front bumper with large air intakes, slightly darkened tail lights with multi-level function, a long bonnet, narrow window line with frameless side windows and dynamically downwards sloping roof.”
“A further upgraded interior seamlessly combines contemporary luxury with sporty elegance and even more spacious cabin with outstanding exclusivity and functionality. The new free-standing colour display in the head unit of multimedia system defines the dashboard’s contemporary looks. Other new features include a redesigned three-spoke sports steering wheel and a central control panel in the centre console with four buttons, for example,” Mr. Schulz said.
And as one of the newest high-tech ingredients designed and developed by Mercedes-Benz, the futuristic MULTIBEAM LED technology used in the new generation CLS ensures optimised illumination in virtually any traffic situation. The camera-based Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus provides the information for the illumination. If it detects illuminated oncoming vehicles or vehicles ahead, it drives each of individual high-performance LEDs in the matrix light source electronically so that individual areas of the road are specifically masked in accordance with the particular situation to prevent other drivers from being dazzled while setting up a main beam gap with minimal width.
The new generation CLS comes in choices of CLS 250 CDI Exclusive at 4.49 million baht, CLS 250 CDI AMG Premium at 4.99 million baht, and CLS 250 CDI Shooting Brake AMG Premium at 5.09 million baht.
