ศิลปินดาราระดับโลกตอบรับร่วมงานเทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ ปี 2552

งานเทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ ปี 2552 (Bangkok International Film Festival 2009) กำลังจะเริ่มขึ้นพร้อมกับความยิ่งใหญ่อลังการกว่าทุกปี ในคอนเซ็บย้อนยุคทองของภาพยนตร์ Hollywood Glamour รอพบกับขบวนเซเล็บดังนำโดย เจมส์ เบลลุชชี่ (James Belushi) นักแสดงรุ่นใหญ่, ดาราสาวเซ็กซี่ ราเชล นิโคล(Rachel Nichols) และทีมดารา GI Joe อีกหลายท่าน รวมถึง ซัง แกง (Sung Kang) จาก Fast&Furious 3 และ 4, ดาราสมทบผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ วิง รามี่ (Ving Rhammes), ฌอง คอด แวนแดม (Jean-Claude Van Damme) กับทีมนักแสดงในภาพยนตร์เรื่องล่าสุด และดาราเอเซีย ริชาร์ด นิง (Richard Ng )ฯลฯ จะมาร่วมงานพรมแดงวันเปิดเทศกาลฯ ณ โรงภาพยนตร์เอสเอฟ เวิลด์ ซีเนม่า ศูนย์การค้าเซ็นทรัลเวิลด์ ในวันที่ 24 กันยายนนี้ สำหรับภาพยนตร์เปิดเทศกาล Bad Lieutenant-Port of Call New Orleans หนังล่าสุดของ นิโคลัส เคจ ฝีมือผู้กำกับคลื่นลูกใหม่ แวร์เนอร์ แฮร์ซ็อก (Worner Herxog) และสวัสดีบางกอก ภาพยนตร์ที่นำเสนอกรุงเทพฯ ในมุมมองของ 9 ผู้กำกับ บัณฑิต-ปรัชญา-ฤทัยวรรณ-เป็นเอก-วิศิษฎ์-อาทิตย์-คงเดช-สันติ-ชูเกียรติ เป็นหนังปิดเทศกาล ส่วนพิธีมอบรางวัลกินรีทองคำ และพิธีปิดเทศกาลฯ ทูลกระหม่อมหญิงอุบลรัตนราชกัญญา สิริวัฒนาพรรณวดี จะเสด็จเป็นองค์ประธาน ในวันที่ 30 กันยายนนี้ ณ โรงแรมชาเทรียม สวีท กรุงเทพฯ หนึ่งในโรงแรมของเครือดุสิตธานี
ในงานแถลงข่าวการจัดงานเทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ ปี 2552 ครั้งที่ 2 (14 กย.) ณ โรงภาพยนตร์เอสเอฟ เวิลด์ ซีเนม่า ศูนย์การค้าเซ็นทรัลเวิลด์ นางวิลาวัณย์ ตันวัฒนะพงษ์ ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีประจำกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา เปิดเผยว่า
“เทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ เป็นวาระที่ ภาพยนตร์หรืออุตสาหกรรมบันเทิงจะสร้างให้เกิดการ “เปลี่ยนแปลง” ในทางที่ดี พร้อมที่จะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของแนวทางแก้ไขวิกฤตเศรษฐกิจ ในขณะนี้ ซึ่งถือเป็นการผลักดัน Creative Industry เศรษฐกิจเชิงสร้างสรรค์ ในรูปแบบ Culture Industry ที่มีทุนทางวัฒนธรรมและสังคมเป็นที่ตั้ง กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวฯ มั่นใจว่าเทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ ปีนี้ จะดึงดูดให้กลุ่มคนในอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ทั้งชาวไทย และชาวต่างชาติเข้าร่วมงานเพื่อเจรจาธุรกิจสำหรับกลุ่มผู้สร้างและผู้จัดจำหน่ายภาพยนตร์ โดยมีส่วนผลักดันการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจของประเทศ เพื่อเป็นช่องทางเพิ่มเงินหมุนเวียนในอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยว และการส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์อันดีงามของประเทศไทย โดยผู้สื่อข่าวนานาชาติที่มาร่วมเทศกาลฯ”
ทางด้านนายจาฤก กัลย์จาฤก นายกสมาพันธ์สมาคมภาพยนตร์แห่งชาติ ประธานการจัดงานเทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ ปี 2552 ได้กล่าวถึงภาพยนตร์เปิดและปิดเทศกาลครั้งนี้ว่า
“เทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ ครั้งนี้ เราได้รับเกียรติจากผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์ เรื่อง Bad Lieutenant-Port of Call New Orleans หนังล่าสุดของ นิโคลัส เคจ ฝีมือผู้กำกับคลื่นลูกใหม่ แวร์เนอร์ แฮร์ซ็อก (Worner Herxog) มาเป็นภาพยนตร์เปิดเทศกาล และ“สวัสดีบางกอก” ภาพยนตร์ที่นำเสนอกรุงเทพฯ ในมุมมองของ 9 ผู้กำกับ บัณฑิต-ปรัชญา-ฤทัยวรรณ-เป็นเอก-วิศิษฎ์-อาทิตย์-คงเดช-สันติ-ชูเกียรติ เป็นหนังปิดเทศกาลฯ รวมทั้งภาพยนตร์ที่นำมาฉายโชว์ และภาพยนตร์ประกวดในเทศกาลฯ สาขาต่างๆ กว่า 100 เรื่อง และเพื่อให้ภาพยนตร์ที่จัดฉายมีความหลากหลายมากขึ้น เราจึงได้ร่วมกับเทศกาลภาพยนตร์แอนนิเมชั่นกรุงเทพฯ ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรกในประเทศไทย นำเอาภาพยนตร์แอนนิเมชั่นที่มีชื่อเสียง ที่ได้คัดสรรจากเทศกาลทั่วโลกมาจัดฉายรวมอยู่ในโปรแกรมเดียวกันอีกด้วย”
อีกทั้งยังได้รับการตอบรับจากดาราฮอลลีวู้ด ดาราเอเชีย พร้อมทั้งผู้สร้างและผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์จากนานาประเทศกว่า 120 ชีวิตเดินทางเข้าร่วมงานในครั้งนี้ รวมไปถึงการจัดสัมมนาที่จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อวงการอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์อย่างแท้จริง พิเศษไปกว่านั้นเราได้เตรียมการต้อนรับแบบไทยๆ พร้อมทั้งโปรแกรมการท่องเที่ยวให้กับแขกผู้มาเยือนอย่างประทับใจ”
อีกไฮไลท์หนึ่งของเทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ ปีนี้ ยังประกอบด้วยการสัมมนาที่น่าสนใจในหลากหลายหัวข้อ อาทิ “วงการหนังยุคเศรษฐกิจถอยหลัง” “ปกป้องลิขสิทธิ์ หนังใน ยุคดิจิตอล” , “ไทยลี่วูด – พัฒนาการธุรกิจภาพยนตร์ระดับนานาชาติในประเทศไทย” โดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิของวงการภาพยนตร์ฮอลลีวู้ดที่มีชื่อเสียงระดับโลก อาทิ Mr. Gregg Hale – ผู้อำนวยการ สร้างภาพยนตร์เรื่อง “The Blair Witch Project” , Mr.Elie Samaha หนึ่งใน ผู้อำนวยการสร้าง ภาพยนตร์ฟอร์มยักษ์ที่ร่วมงานกับนักแสดงชั้นนำ นอกจากนี้ยังมีสัมมนาที่น่าสนใจสำหรับนักแสดงไทยโดยเฉพาะในหัวข้อ “การสร้างโอกาสให้นักแสดงไทยก้าวสู่เวที Hollywood” โดยเอเจนซี่ที่ดูแลนักแสดงจาก Hollywood โดยตรง เพื่อเป็นการเปิดโอกาสให้นักแสดงไทยก้าวสู่เวทีนานาชาติ จึงเชื่อได้ว่าเทศกาลในปีนี้จะยิ่งใหญ่ กว่าเดิมอย่างแน่นอน

BANGKOK FILM FESTIVAL 2009 TO REFLECT ERA OF CHANGE
The 7th Bangkok International Film Festival 2009, due to be held in the Thai capital between 24 - 30 September 2009, will assume a strongly social and regional thematic focus with films that exemplify today’s era of change. For the second time, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Federation of National Film Associations of Thailand have joined forces to present the foremost film event in South East Asia. Not only has attendance risen on previous years, but the festival directors managed to attract an even wider range of audiences, exposing a new generation of filmgoers to an incredible variety of movies from across the globe.
The TAT proudly continues its support for the Bangkok International Film Festival and Jareuk Kaljareuk, President of the Federation of National Film Associations of Thailand, makes his return as Festival Director.
Once again the Thai Film Directors Association will lead the artistic direction of the festival under the guidance of Association President and well-known filmmaker Yongyoot Thongkongtoon. Director of Programming, Pimpaka Towira and Mai Meksawan have put together a fresh and exciting programme of around 80 films.
Over the last few years, the festival has attracted many of cinemas biggest names. Luminaries such as Oliver Stone, Michael Douglas and Jean Claude van Damme, to name just a few, have all been recent guests.
This year, with the world clawing itself from the depths of an economic crisis BKKIFF’09 has been able to entice a fantastic line-up of celebrities.
Jim Belushi and Ving Rhames pretty much head up the list of the familiar but there is also some hot new talent dropping in on Bangkok to take part in the festival. Olivia Thirlby and Scout Taylor Compton are two to watch for and same can be said for Kyle Gallner and Sung Kang. All are rising young stars with big futures ahead.
The Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema is an international Asian film business and cultural organization whose members are leading authorities on and professionals within Asian cinema. This year’s NETPAC jury consists of Jung Soo-wan (South Korea), Graiwoot Chulphongsathorn (Thai) and Ranjanee Ratnavibhushana (Sri Lanka).
Apart from a whole week dedicated to bringing to a Thai audience some of the world’s most captivating film makers and an exploration of cultural diversity there are red carpet events, seminars and a few parties…
To be held between 25-29 September 2009, at Chatrium Suites Bangkok, the seminars and workshops will be headed up by industry professionals on a wide and fascinating range of subject matter.
This year, the First Bangkok International Bangkok Animation Film Festival will also be held alongside the BKIFF on September 25– 30, 2009 at Paragon Cineplex, Paragon Shopping Complex and at SF World Cinema, Central World.
Over 40 animation films from around the world are competing and will be shown during the festival including 5 animation films from the US, 11 from Europe, 12 from the Asia-Pacific, and 8 from Thailand. Jointly organized by the Software Industry Promotion Agency and the Federation of National Film Associations of Thailand, the animation festival aims to promote the Creative Economy concept.
The Bangkok International Animation Film Festival 2009 aims to provide a source of inspiration for youngsters to showcase their creative mind, and for new-genre entrepreneurs to apply their creativities in the commercial world, while at the same time, promoting the concept of “Creative Economy” to international audiences.
The TAT has invited over 50 media from overseas to join this event and also arranged pre and post tours for them to survey locations for film shooting Thailand.
Encouraging more films to be shot in Thailand is a strategic objective of the TAT as it seeks to promote the Kingdom as a quality destination. Top locations for international film shooting in Thailand are Bangkok, Chonburi, Chiang Mai and Phuket.
According to the Thailand Film Office, in 2009, the line-up of film shoots in Thailand included 21 feature films, 92 advertisements, 85 documentaries, 25 TV series and 42 music videos. These are estimated to have generated revenues of 497.01 million baht. India ranked number 1 on the list follow by Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, USA and China and other countries in Asia.
