AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited has announced the launch of “AEON Easy Pay”, a new payment service that gives consumers and merchants throughout Thailand a more convenient way to complete electronic payments.

The new service will allow merchants to use their smart phone as a card-accepting device, making it simpler than ever for consumers to pay for products and services using their credit card.

"With the significant growth of smart phone and tablet users in Thailand, people are becoming familiar with making on-line payments while shopping on e-commerce sites. While this new way to shop is growing in popularity, the vast majority of transactions still occur face-to-face with merchants," said Mr. Yasuhiko Kondo, Managing Director, AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited.

"We are excited about our new AEON Easy Pay service as it will enable our company to further increase our business in Thailand. We know that we are a relative newcomer in this business and competition is intense, but we are confident that we will become one of Thailand’s major players for mobile point of sale services (mPOS),” he added.

AEON has developed “Easy pay Service” service to support more convenient payment services to support more convenient transactions from a wide variety of businesses, including AEON group companies like AEON Insurance Service. The company also aims to roll-out this service to all its key business partners in a range of business categories, such as insurance, delivery service, and also AEON member stores, which number more than 15,000 stores nationwide.

In addition to providing convenience to merchants and customers when making or receiving payments, ‘Easy Pay’ payment service will also be highly secure as it will comply with robust VISA security standards such as Verified by Visa. This will give customers greater piece of mind as they can make their payment free from the concerns of fraudulent practices, such as skimming or counterfeiting.

Mr. Somboon Krobteeranon, Visa country manager, Myanmar and Thailand said “Visa is proud to partner with AEON, AEON Insurance Service and Allianz Ayudhya to drive electronic payments in Thailand. Today’s launch of AEON Easy Pay Service aligns with Visa’s efforts in bringing mPOS to Thailand – as the Kingdom becomes a truly cashless society. New payment solutions like mPOS will change the payment experience in Thailand, offering a ‘new way to pay’ – all through Visa’s trusted network. We ensure payment security of mPOS solutions through the Visa Ready Partner Program – giving peace of mind to both mPOS merchants and their customers.”

"We are introducing mPOS services to ensure electronic payments are  made as simple and convenient as possible for all of our customers, and I strongly believe that the launch of our new AEON Easy Pay Service will meet the needs of our valued partners as well as our cardholders," added Mr. Yasuhiko Kondo
