STAR celebrates 20th anniversary with aim to grow 20% in 2010
Star Sanitaryware Public Company Ltd. (STAR), the leading brand of Thai sanitaryware products of world-class export quality, celebrates its 20th anniversary in style with the sale of the company’s 20th million item worldwide. The company’s success has prompted the announcement of STAR’s strategy for 2010, which is to increase domestic market share by 10 percent while the company has traditionally focused 70 percent of its effort on markets in Europe, America and Japan. The new direction was announced by STAR’s plans to launch new products which are superior to competitors in terms of designs and creative purposes in the middle to upper class market. As the global economy recovery begins, STAR believes sales can increase by 15-20 percent. STAR is also confident that the company’s production capacity can be raised by 30 percent without need to expansion of facilities.
Dr. Somchai Wongaroon, a President of STAR Sanitaryware Public Company Ltd., announced that 2010 is the 20th anniversary of Star Sanitaryware, the manufacturer and distributor of sanitary ware products of international standards. The company has sold more than 20 million items throughout the world. Previously, STAR focused more on foreign markets than domestic market at 70 to 30 ratio. However, the company planned to increase 10 percent of the domestic market share this year after finding that middle to upper class consumers responded well to its products. The company expects that that product sales will increase between 15 to 20 percent as both the world and Thai economy improve. Confident consumers spend more money buying products as well as growth of real estate business that was projected by the government. These are very good indicators for the company.
STAR is a comprehensive manufacturer of sanitaryware products with registered capital in excess of TB180 million.
