TSL Takes No.1 Spot in Thailand Grey Market,
Invests 100 Million Baht to Open a New Showroom and Service Center Downtown; and Around Bangkok within 2010
TSL takes no.1 spot in Thailand Grey market with adverse sales growth. Lately, it invested around 100 million baht to open a new showroom and complete service center at Thonglor. It also plans to open showrooms and service centers nationwide next year.
Mr. Surasit Udompolvanich, President of TSL Auto Corporation Co., Ltd. – an independent car importer (grey market), revealed about success and business direction of TSL that the company achieved a lot after having run car importing business for 5 years. Right now, TSL became no.1 independent car importer in Thailand. It was not only due to the continual growth of our sales, but also our post-sales service which had been trusted for having up-to-date repair equipment. Most of all, TSL was the first service center to serve hybrid cars (since 2006). Success caused by those mentioned factors enabled our company to continually expand service business. Lately, the company invested around 100 million baht to open a new showroom at the entrance of Soi Thonglor (Sukhumvit 55), which was the 3rd TSL official branch.
Mr. Surasit stated that the first showroom, which was also the head office, was located at Chaeng Watthana. The 2nd showroom was located at Sathorn. The new showroom at the entrance of Soi Thonglor was the 3rd showroom and service center which would provide customer more convenience. This branch would also be a pattern for enhanced post-sales service of import and premium car under the name SMRT (Smart team and Smart service). TSL planned to open showroom and standard service center around Bangkok.
“This is another success for TSL as we expand our customer service. We have always been trusted by customers for having policy and ideology to provide the most advantage to customers. Moreover, TSL do not only serve customers who bought their cars from our showrooms, but we also welcome those who bought their cars from other distributors.” said Mr. Surasit.
Miss Sureeporn Udompolvanich, Vice President of TSL Auto Corporation Co., Ltd., spoke about the situation of import car market that the overall market tended to continually grow. At the same time, marketing competition to strive for customer was still serious as new distributors kept constantly opening. This level of car market might be adverse to the overall image of auto market, which was a bit drawn back, as it was supported by premium customers. Therefore the market was not much affected by economic and political situations.
Miss Sureeporn said about TSL sales of 2008 that the company had sold 352 cars, a 100% growth compared to 167 units sold in 2006. In 2009, it was expected that 30% would be accomplished or at least 450 cars sold. Main products were Estima, Cube, Thh New E-Class, and Bb. Anyway, it was true that political, economic and fuel price issue fairly had influence on customer's decision. At the same time, the company still continued to sell hybrid products. 70% of TSL product sold in this year was Japanese cars. Amongst the mentioned number, there were hybrid cars for about 30%. The main hybrid cars models were Prius Hybrid and Estima Hybrid.

In service sector, TSL expects to be the best premium car service center by increasing service channels at the beginning of next year. There will also be delivery service, which is outdoor service of checking car condition at customer’s house by distance and 24 standard directories.
