มร. สตีฟ แบล็ค ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร มาสเตอร์ฟุตบอล กล่าวว่า "เมื่อปีที่ผ่านมาเราได้นำอดีตนักเตะทีม ลิเวอร์พูลมาฟาดแข้งกับอดีตนักเตะทีมชาติไทยชุดดรีมทีม ซึ่งได้ผลตอบรับดีมากจากแฟนบอลชาวไทย จึงมีกระแสเรียกร้องจากแฟนบอลชาวไทยว่าอยากชมฝีเท้าของทีมหงส์แดงลิเวอร์พูลกับปีศาจแดงแมนเชสเตอร์ ยูไนเต็ดบ้าง เราจึงเอาใจแฟนบอลชาวไทยจัดศึกวันแดงเดือดนัดประวัติศาสตร์ในตำนานครั้งแรกในประเทศไทย เพื่อให้คนไทยได้มีโอกาสชมฝีเท้าของสุดยอดนักเตะระดับตำนานอย่างใกล้ชิด"
