Dell Corporation Group recognizes the ability of Dell Thailand after turning in great performances in consumer segment only after 3 years of doing business. The growth performance of the company in Thailand is now third in Asia, only after China and Vietnam. The success can be attributed to well product selection and strong after-sales services, which helped push up the sales by as much as double growth at the end of 2009. Dell in Thailand prepares to launch a number of innovative products to blanket every existing segment, which should help the annual sales for 2010 to increase by more than double success.
Mr. Ian Chapman-banks, General Manager, Asia Pacific Consumer Division, Dell Corporation Group, disclosed that his company had now realized the growth potential of the consumer markets in Asia. The latest development to confirm this belief was the establishment of the product design and development center in Singapore and Shanghai. These centers were intended to create products that cater to the needs of consumers in Asia. We expected to enjoy the same level of success as before, as when we only focused on corporate customers.
“At present, Asia is considered a market with the highest growth potential in the world. More importantly, we have seen the consistency in the growing of consumer’s purchasing abilities. The one of top 3 markets displaying strong purchasing power by consumers are China, Vietnam and Thailand respectively. For Dell, these 3 countries have become strong strategic markets and they will receive increased marketing budgets to help propel the operation further citing the company’s main strategy of consistent retail market expansion all over the ASEAN through DELL Concept Stores to allow consumers proper product exposure and good experience. We are confident in becoming No. 2 in Asia Pacific this year,” he explained.
Meanwhile Mr. Anothai Wettayakorn, Managing Director, Dell Corporation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Indo China Region, revealed the company’s plan to expand its presence in the consumer market, saying Thailand’s consumer market enjoyed quite a rapid growth in both personal computer and notebook or even net book. “The market is expected to grow by 20% by the end of 2010 and Thai consumers will focus on stylish design combined with functionality that serves the objective at of course, reasonable prices with ample concern on the after-sales services. This combination of expectations can be met at Dell so we have no worries about initiating continuous growth in the market or getting acceptance from our target consumers. In addition, our DELL Concept Store, which will be launched at the rate of 3 outlets per quarter, will help with the sales especially in the provinces and remote localities,” he said.
Mr.Krittawit Krittayaruangroj, Marketing Manager, South Asia Emerging Countries, Dell Corporation Group, added details of new products Dell intends to launch this year, saying for Thailand, Dell products would cover all segments and the line up would be led by AlienwareM11X – which comes with 11-inch screen and Intel Core2 Duo Su7300 CPU at starting price of 40,000 baht and Adamo XPS – high-end notebook with ultra slim design of only 9.99 mm., 13.4-screen and Intel Core2 Duo ULV CPU. “In addition, Dell will launch Inspiron Zino HD, portable CPU in various color variety and design for utmost enjoyable home entertainment at starting price of 10,500 baht; Inspiron One – an all-in-one PC with touch-screen feature; and Studio Series notebook -- available with the latest Core Series CPU. All these line ups of new product are expected to help Dell generate strong attraction to target in the Kingdom,” he concluded
