ไททา ชูนวัตเกษตร ช่วยเกษตรกร สร้างอนาคตเกษตรกรรมไทย

สมาคมฯ นวัตกรรมเพื่อการเกษตรไทย หรือ ไททา ประกาศความร่วมมือกับภาครัฐ เอกชน และสื่อมวลชนไทย ตั้งเป้าพัฒนาเกษตรกร เพิ่มผลผลิตร้อยละ 30 ด้วยนวัตเกษตร สร้างอนาคตใหม่เกษตรกรรมไทย

ประเทศไทยส่งออกข้าวเป็นอันดับสองของโลก และมีชื่อเสียงเป็นที่ยอมรับในฐานะประเทศชั้นนำด้านเกษตรกรรม ดร.เซียง ฮี ตัน ผู้อำนวยการบริหาร ครอปไลฟ์ เอเชีย กล่าวในงานเปิดตัวสมาคมฯ นวัตกรรมเพื่อการเกษตรไทย “เกษตรกรไทย มีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการผลิตอาหาร ให้สามารถเลี้ยงดูประชากรทั้งในและต่างประเทศ ส่งเป็นสินค้าออก สร้างรายได้กลับเข้าประเทศ มากกว่า 4 แสนล้านบาท โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ภายในปี 2020 ภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ จะมีประชากรสูงถึง 60 ล้านราย ครอปไลฟ์ ในฐานะองค์กรไม่แสวงผลกำไร ตระหนักถึงปัญหาที่กำลังจะเกิดขึ้น คือ การผลิตอาหารเพื่อเลี้ยงดูประชากรที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น จึงพิจารณาเลือกประเทศไทยให้เป็น “ประเทศต้นแบบของการพัฒนาเกษตรกรรมสมัยใหม่” พร้อมที่จะให้การสนับสนุนและส่งเสริม เพื่อนำไปสู่การผลิตอาหารได้อย่างมั่นคงและยั่งยืน”


ดร. วรณิกา นาควัชระ ผู้อำนวยการบริหาร สมาคมฯ นวัตกรรมเพื่อการเกษตรไทย หรือ ไททา เปิดเผยว่า “ไททา เป็นองค์กรที่ไม่แสวงผลกำไรด้านนวัตกรรมการเกษตรระดับโลก หนึ่งในสำนักงานในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของครอปไลฟ์ อินเตอร์เนชันแนล มีเป้าหมายหลักในการช่วยเหลือเกษตรกรให้สามารถผลิตผลิตผลทางการเกษตรได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและประสิทธิผลเพื่อเป็นอาหารให้ประชากรโลก ด้วยนวัตเกษตรที่เหมาะสม และเป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยดำเนินงานในประเทศไทยมาตั้งแต่เดือนเมษายน ปี 2561 โดยมีโครงการแรกที่ได้ดำเนินการคือ โครงการรักษ์ผึ้งชันโรง หรือ Protect Stingless Bee ภายใต้แนวคิด “เกษตรกรรม รักษ์โลก เพื่อคน สร้างชุมชน”อันเป็นหนึ่งในโครงการ “รักษ์แมลงผสมเกสร” ของครอปไลฟ์ อินเตอร์เนชันแนล ซึ่งได้เริ่มโครงการในประเทศอินเดีย ไทย และฟิลิปปินส์ ในประเทศไทย ได้จัดขึ้นในจังหวัด จันทบุรีซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ๆ มีสวนผลไม้ในส่วนใหญ่ของพื้นที่ มีเกษตรกรเข้าร่วมมากกว่า 100 ราย สามารถเพิ่มผลผลิตได้ถึงร้อยละ 23 และกำลังดำเนินการโครงการนี้ในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ๆ มีสวนลิ้นจี่และลำไยมากที่สุดของประเทศ โดยจะรวบรวมเกษตรกรผู้เลี้ยงผึ้งจากจังหวัดแพร่และน่านเข้าร่วมโครงการอีกด้วย

นวัตเกษตร หรือ การพัฒนาด้านวิทยาศาสตร์พืชสมัยใหม่เพื่อช่วยเหลือเกษตรกร จะช่วย “รักษ์โลก”ให้เกษตรกรสามารถเพาะปลูกได้อย่างถูกต้องและเหมาะสม ลดการใช้ทรัพยากรดินและน้ำอย่างสิ้นเปลือง รักษาสมดุลธรรมชาติ ขณะเดียวกัน ก็สามารถผลิตอาหาร “เพื่อคน” ได้อย่างเพียงพอ มีคุณภาพและปลอดภัย เตรียมพร้อมรองรับการเพิ่มของประชากรทั่วโลกในอนาคต รวมทั้ง สร้างรายได้“เพื่อชุมชน” ของเกษตรกรไทยให้มีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้น นำไปสู่การเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจของประเทศต่อไป

พื้นที่เกษตรกรรมของไทย 138 ล้านไร่ ปัจจุบัน หลายพื้นที่ เกษตรกร ยังคงประสบปัญหาการขาดแคลนน้ำ ดินไม่มีคุณสมบัติที่เหมาะสมต่อการเพาะปลูก เผชิญกับโรคแมลงและศัตรูพืช สิ่งเหล่านี้ สามารถจัดการได้ด้วยนวัตเกษตร โดยแผนการดำเนินงานระยะสั้น 2 ปี (2019-2020) ไททา จะมุ่งเน้นพัฒนาความรู้เกษตรกร เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในกระบวนการผลิตอย่างน้อย ร้อยละ 30 ใช้ทรัพยากรน้อยลงแต่ได้ผลผลิตเพิ่มขึ้น ใช้ต้นทุนน้อยลงแต่ได้ผลผลิตมีคุณภาพมากขึ้น ส่งเสริมเกษตรกรรุ่นใหม่สู่ภาคการเกษตร ในกลุ่มเกษตรกรผู้เลี้ยงผึ้งและพืชเศรษฐกิจ อาศัยความร่วมมือกับภาคส่วนต่าง ๆ อาทิ กระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ กระทรวงสาธารณสุข กระทรวงวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี มูลนิธิโครงการหลวง และสมาคมต่างๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการดำเนินกิจกรรมทางด้านเกษตรกรรม

สมาคมฯ ยังได้รับความไว้วางใจจากกรมวิชาการเกษตร และกรมส่งเสริมการเกษตรให้เป็นหนึ่งในองค์กรที่ร่วมสนับสนุนความรู้ทางวิชาการและบุคคลากรในกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ด้านการฝึกอบรมและการเผยแพร่ความรู้สู่เกษตรกร

“ไททา พร้อมที่จะเดินหน้าสู่อนาคตแห่งเกษตรกรรมไทยไปกับทุกภาคส่วน ควบคู่กับการนำองค์ความรู้และนวัตเกษตรระดับโลกมาสนับสนุน เพื่อบรรลุเป้าหมายระดับโลก “สร้างความมั่นคงและความปลอดภัยทางอาหาร” และส่งเสริมยุทธศาสตร์เกษตรและสหกรณ์ของไทยที่ว่า “เกษตรกรมั่นคง ภาคการเกษตรมั่งคั่ง ทรัพยากรการเกษตรยั่งยืน” ดร. วรณิกา กล่าวสรุป

Thailand is the world’s second largest rice exporter and is wellknown as a leading agricultural country.

“Thai farmers play a vital role in producing food to feed this country and overseas,” Dr. Siang Hee Tan, director of Crop Life Asia, noted during the launch of the Thailand Innovation Agricultural Association. “Food produced here is exported and will generate income for the country of more than THB400 billion per year, especially by 2020, during which Southeast Asia will have a population of over 600 million. Croplife, a non-profit organization which has realized the upcoming problem of increasing food production to feedthe rising number of people, has selected Thailand as the model of modern agriculture ready to support and promote the country so it can produce food sustainability,” he added.


Dr. VoranicaNagavajara, executive director of the Thailand Innovation Agriculture Association (TAITA), said: “TAITA is an international non-profit organization on innovation and is one of Croplife International’s offices in the Southeast Asianregion with the objective to help farmers efficiently grow agricultural produce to feedthe world’s population. Agriculture methods should be suitable and environmentally friendly. The agency has been in operation in Thailand since April 2018, with its first project titled Protect Stingless Bees under the concept ‘Agriculture Conserves the World and buildsCommunity’, which is part of Croplife International’s project to conserve pollinating insects.This projectis taking place in fruit orchards in Chanthaburi andat lychee and longan farms in Chiang Mai – where the project is the country’s largest –while bee farmers in Phrae and Nan are also participating. It is has also commenced in India and the Philippines. In Thailand, more than 100 farmers are participating and have witnessed increased productivity by23%,”

Agricultural innovation encompasses scientific development for modern agriculture to help farmers “conserve the world” and observe correct agricultural procedures. This will reduce excessive use of soil and water to maintaina natural environmental balance. At the same time, farmers can sufficiently produce safe, quality food and cater to an increasing global population. The move will also generate decent income for the community while upgrading farmers’ quality of life to boost the country’s economy.

Thailandhas 138 million rai of agricultural land, but in several areas farmers face water shortage and have to contend with unsuitable soil for agriculture amidthe threat of insects and diseases. However, these obstacles can be overcome by agricultural innovation. Now, under a two-year short-term operation (2019-2020), TAITA will place emphasis on helping farmers become more knowledgeable to increase efficiency in production by at least 30 per cent by using fewer resources yet increasing productivity, and using less capital but developing better quality produce. The project aims to promote a new generation of farmers, especially beekeepers and those who can grow “economic” plants. This can be achieved by cooperation from various sectors such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Public Health Ministry, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Royal Project Foundation,in addition to various associations related to agricultural activities.

The association hasgained the trust of the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Agricultural Promotion to be among the agencies promoting academic knowledge and assisting personnel in various activities on training and disseminating knowledge to farmers.

“TAITA is moving towards a sustainable future for Thai agriculture with every concerned sector, and at the same time adopting new knowledge and innovation to support the international goal of‘creating food stability and safety’, including promoting Thailand’s agricultural and cooperative strategies of having ‘wealthy farms and prosperous and sustainable agricultural resources’,Dr. Voranica concluded.
