Bata Thailand Prepares for Mourning the Passing of King Bhumibol
BANGKOK, THAILAND: In honor of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol’s Royal Funeral Bata Thailandis taking steps to show its respect and condolences for the country’s beloved King’s demise.
From October 1st to 29th Bata Thailand’s shops will all be decorated in black and white only. On October 26th, 2017, the official day of the Royal Cremation, all Bata stores in Thailand will be closed. This is to ensure all staff take this day off to pay their final respects to their King and be with their families during this trying time.
Bata is also offering a special promotion on all their shoes to give mourners the chance to get suitable footwear at a reasonable price for the upcoming ceremonies and commemoration events.
Apart from this, Bata has also undertaken other activities to mourn the world’s longest-reigning monarch. Apart from contributing to several of His charities, the company’s staff and management co-hosted the Royal Funeral Ceremony for King Rama IX, Bhumibol Adulyadej, on June 12th, 2017.
“This is a sad time for Thailand and on behalf of the whole company I wish to express my sincere condolences to the Thai Royal Family as well as the Thai people. I take this chance to pay our final respects to King Bhumibol Adulyadej who loyally served his nation as a monarch and father figure for so many years,” said Paolo Grassi, managing director of Bata Thailand.
