16 ธันวาคม 2559 – ดีแทคเดินหน้าต่อเนื่องผลักดันไทยสู่เศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลอย่างแข็งแกร่ง พร้อมต่อยอดดิจิทัลแบรนด์ 2020 ด้วยการนำ "บล็อกเชน" กระตุ้นไทยเพิ่มขีดความสามารถสู่ระดับโลก เชิญกูรูชื่อดัง "อเล็กซ์ แทปสก็อตต์" ผู้เขียนหนังสือ "BLOCKCHAIN REVOLUTION" จัดเสวนาในไทยหวังกระตุ้นทั้งภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน ผู้ประกอบการรายย่อย ประชาชน รับมือกระแสนวัตกรรมและเทคโนโลยีที่จะมาปฏิวัติทุกวงการ ชูการเตรียมพร้อมพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมดิจิทัลของไทยให้ก้าวสู่โลกดิจิทัลทุกภาคส่วนโดยไม่ทิ้งใครไว้ข้างหลัง

นายลาร์ส นอร์ลิ่ง ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร บริษัท โทเทิ่ล แอ็คเซ็ส คอมมูนิเคชั่น จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือดีแทค กล่าวว่า "บล็อกเชน (Blockchain) คือนวัตกรรมเทคโนโลยีที่จะขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมดิจิทัลที่ไม่ใช่แค่พลิกโฉมประเทศไทย แต่จะรวมถึงพลิกโฉมประเทศต่างๆ ในโลก ซึ่งนอกจากบล็อกเชนจะเข้ามาปฏิวัติโลกธุรกิจ และแวดวงการเงินการธนาคารแล้ว ยังจะเข้ามายกระดับและเปลี่ยนวิถีชีวิตประชาชนทั่วไปเฉกเช่นเดียวกันกับอิทธิพลของโลกออนไลน์ในขณะนี้ ถึงแม้เทคโนโลยีบล็อกเชนจะยังคงใหม่และต้องใช้เวลากว่าจะมีการใช้อย่างแพร่หลายในสังคม แต่เพื่อหลีกเลี่ยงความไม่พร้อมและการเสียโอกาสจากการเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็วของเทคโนโลยีใหม่ๆ นักวางแผน นักกลยุทธ์ ตลอดจนผู้กำหนดนโยบายภาครัฐต่างๆ รวมถึงกิจการโทรคมนาคม ควรตระหนักถึงอิทธิพลของเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมที่อาจเกิดขึ้นต่อระบบในกิจการโทรคมนาคมอย่างฉับพลันในอนาคตอันใกล้ ดังนั้น การเตรียมความพร้อมต่อโอกาสและความท้าทายในอนาคตจะทำให้ประเทศไทยมีความได้เปรียบ เมื่อนวัตกรรมและเทคโนโลยีเหล่านั้นพร้อมให้บริการเชิงพาณิชย์อย่างเต็มรูปแบบ"

รายงานการใช้งานดาต้าผ่านอินเทอร์เน็ตโดยเฉลี่ยบนมือถือโครงข่ายดีแทคต่อคนต่อเดือนจากตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2557 เทียบกับ ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2559 เพิ่มเกือบ 200% ในขณะที่ข้อมูลจาก www.internetworldstats.com ในเดือนมิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2559 รายงานการจัดอันดับ 20 ประเทศที่มีผู้ใช้งานการใช้งานอินเทอร์เน็ตเพิ่มขึ้นสูงสุด มีประเทศไทยติดอยู่ในอันดับ 19 ของโลก โดยไทยมีผู้ใช้งานอินเทอร์เน็ต 41 ล้านคน จากประชากรไทยประมาณ 68.2 ล้านคน โดยเพิ่มสูงถึง 1682.6% เมื่อเทียบกับการใช้งานปี พ.ศ. 2543-2559 แสดงว่าประเทศไทยมีการพัฒนาสู่ดิจิทัลอย่างเร็วและน่าสนใจ

อย่างไรก็ตาม สิ่งที่อุตสาหกรรมโทรคมนาคมไทยกำลังประสบและเป็นอุปสรรคต่อการส่งเสริมเทคโนโลยีในอนาคต คือ "กรอบนโยบายที่ชัดเจนต่ออุตสาหกรรมโทรคมนาคมไทยในอนาคต" เพื่อรองรับต่อปริมาณการใช้ข้อมูลมหาศาลหรือ "บิ๊กดาต้า (Big Data)" อันเกิดจากเทคโนโลยีการสื่อสารในอนาคต ไม่ว่าจะเป็น 5G และ Internet of Things (IoT) ซึ่งเป็นแนวโน้มการเปลี่ยนแปลงเทคโนโลยีของโลกในอีก 3 ปีข้างหน้า

"ดีแทคในฐานะผู้ให้บริการกิจการโทรคมนาคมของไทย ได้ตั้งเป้าหมายในการเป็นอันดับ 1 ดิจิทัลแบรนด์ 2020 หรือ ปี พ.ศ. 2563 ซึ่งการเตรียมความพร้อมจะเป็นหัวใจหลักในการพัฒนากิจการโทรคมนาคมไทย โดยรวมถึงบล็อกเชนที่คาดว่าจะเข้ามาพลิกโฉมหน้าการดำเนินธุรกิจในทุกภาคส่วนของไทย สร้างการเติบโตให้แก่ประเทศผ่านเทคโนโลยี ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับโมเดลการพัฒนาของประเทศ Thailand 4.0 ที่รัฐบาลได้กำหนดขึ้นเพื่อยกระดับรายได้ประชาชนและคุณภาพชีวิตอย่างยั่งยืน อีกทั้งต้องร่วมกันพัฒนาระบบการเข้าถึงดิจิทัลที่ทุกฝ่ายจะต้องมีส่วนช่วยในกระบวนการลดความเหลื่อมล้ำในทางสังคม ทุกคนจะต้องก้าวไปพร้อมๆ กันทุกระดับ ทั้ง ภาครัฐ ราชการ บริษัทจดทะเบียนในตลาดหลักทรัพย์ บริษัทเอกชน ผู้ประกอบการรายย่อย เกษตรกร ประชาชน โดยไม่ทิ้งใครไว้ข้างหลัง" นายลาร์ส กล่าว

สำหรับการกระตุ้นทุกภาคส่วนให้สนใจและสร้างศักยภาพความพร้อมของบุคลากรกับ "บล็อกเชน (Blockchain)" ดีแทคจึงได้ร่วมมือกับกระทรวงดิจิทัลเพื่อเศรษฐกิจและสังคม (ดีอี) สำนักงาน กสทช. และเนชั่นกรุ๊ปได้จัดงานเสวนายิ่งใหญ่ส่งท้ายปีในชื่อ "BLOCKCHAIN REVOLUTION" ด้วยการเชิญ กูรูระดับโลก "อเล็กซ์ แทปสก็อตต์" ผู้เขียนหนังสือ "BLOCKCHAIN REVOLUTION: How the Technology Behind Bitcoin is Changing Money, Business, and the World" ร่วมกับ ดอน แทปสก็อตต์ ซึ่งได้รับความนิยมอย่างรวดเร็ว โดยอเล็กซ์  เป็นประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร และผู้ก่อตั้งบริษัทกองทุน นอร์ธเวสต์ พาสสาจ (Venture Capital) ที่ลงทุนในบล็อกเชน ตลอดระยะเวลา 7 ปี ในตลาดทุนแคนาดาและสหรัฐอเมริกา โดยเขาเป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญเกี่ยวกับบล็อกเชนที่ได้รับการยอมรับและพูดถึงเป็นอันดับต้นๆ ของโลกิ

เป้าหมายของการส่งเสริมประเทศไทยสู่เศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลอย่างยั่งยืน จำเป็นต้องได้รับการสนับสนุนจากทุกภาคส่วนที่จะใช้เทคโนโลยีใหม่ๆ เช่  น "บล็อกเชน" รวมถึงเทคโนโลยีอื่นๆ มาขับเคลื่อนและสนับสนุนสู่ศักยภาพการแข่งขัน โดยเฉพาะภาครัฐที่มีส่วนในการกำหนดนโยบายและยุทธศาสตร์ กรอบแผนงานเหล่านี้ควรมุ่งเน้นให้เกิดการส่งเสริมและพัฒนาของภาคธุรกิจอย่างสร้างสรรค์ และขจัดอุปสรรคต่างๆ เพื่อประโยชน์ต่างๆ จะได้มุ่งสู่ประชาชนในการเข้าถึงการใช้งานอย่างแท้จริง รวมถึงกำหนดแผนยุทธศาสตร์ในการพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานดิจิทัล และความถี่ต่างๆ เพื่อนำมาใช้งานในประเทศไทยด้วยศักยภาพสูงสุดอย่างยั่งยืน

December 16, 2016 – dtac continues to support Thailand's digital economy strategy and build on its drive to become Thailand's leading digital brand by 2020 by adopting "Blockchain" technology to help advance Thailand to global level. Alex Tapscott, the co-author of "Bloockchain Revolution" is invited by dtac to join the seminar organized to prepare the Thai's government, public and private sectors, and the people for the upcoming disruptive technology that will revolutionize all areas of business. dtac is also determined to support the development of Thailand towards the digital economy, leaving no one behind.

Mr. Lars Norling, Chief Executive Officer, Total Access Communication PLC (dtac) said, "Blockchain is a disruptive technology that will drive the development of digital economy, not only for Thailand but also other countries around the world. The average mobile data usage per person of dtac subscribers has increased almost 200% from October 2014 to October 2016. According to the list of top 20 countries with the most Internet usage growth reported by www.internetworldstats.com in June 2016, Thailand, a country with 68.2 million population, was ranked 19th with over 41 million Internet users, increasing 1682.6% from the period of 2000 to 2016, reflecting a rapid development towards digital in Thailand.

However, Thailand's telecom industry will be facing a big hurdle with the rise of these technologies. A huge amount of big data will be emerged from the upcoming digital disruptive technology, including 5G and Internet of Things, which are the world's top digital trends over the next 3 years.
