ในฐานะของผู้ก่อตั้งคอนเนคติ้ง ฟาวเดอรส์ และตัวแทนของผู้ประกอบการหญิง แคทธรีนา เมโลนี ได้ทำการจัดตั้งงานนี้ขึ้นเพื่อปลุกใจผู้ประกอบการหญิงในประเทศไทย โดยมั่นใจว่าทุกหน่วยงานที่เข้าร่วมในงานวีคเอ็น มาร์เก็ตครั้งนี้ประกอบด้วยเจ้าของกิจการหญิงมากกว่า 50% อีกทั้งเธอยังได้สร้างโอกาสให้แก่นักธุรกิจหญิงโดยโชว์ศักยภาพการทำงานของทุกคน ด้วยการออกร้าน และได้พบกับลูกค้าใหม่ๆ เพื่อเป็นการสร้างเครือข่ายที่แข็งแรงให้แก่ทุกคนการจัดงานวีคเอ็น มาร์เก็ตครั้งนี้ประสบความสำเร็จอย่างมาก ด้วยการมีผู้เข้าชมมากกว่า 300 คน จนเปิดโอกาสที่จะขยายกิจการของแต่ละคนออกไปด้วยสินค้าดีๆและการนำเสนอของแต่ละร้าน รวมทั้งกิจกรรมเวิร์คช็อปที่จัดอยู่ในบริเวณโดยรอบ ณ เดอะ คอมมอนส์ โดยในงานนี้ได้นำเสนอแบรนด์เครื่องสำอางธรรมชาติอย่าง โนเวซอง และ ผลิตภัณฑ์บำรุงผิวสตอรี่ โซล ไอศกรีมอัมเพอแซน และร้านขายมันฝรั่ง ของทานเล่นที่ทำจากมันฝรั่งสดปรุงสุกพร้อมโรยหน้าด้วยรสชาติต่างๆ ส่วนของเวิร์คช็อปที่น่าสนใจนี้ก็รวมถึงการดูแลสุขภาพโดย อีเอฟที ประเทศไทย และการทำครีมบำรุงผมด้วยตัวเองโดยเฮลตี้ แฮร์เอเชีย

5) Vicharee Vichit-Vadakan, Co-founder of theCommonsBusinesswomen in the spotlight: Recently Connecting Founders hosted a special weekend market at theCommons Thong Lor in collaboration with Midas PR Group. Inspired by the United Nation’s international Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) on November 19, 2016, and supported by the Embassy of the United States of America, J-SPEC Thailand and Zhenya Anuwatr Photography, this event was dedicated to promoting women-owned businesses in Thailand. As founder of Connecting Founders and WED World Ambassador 2016 for Thailand, Caterina Meloni made it her mission to raise awareness for female entrepreneurs and WED in Thailand. By ensuring all companies represented at the market were at least 50% owned a run by women, she created a unique opportunity for businesswomen to showcase their work, meet customers and build a strong network among each other.
The market was a great success, giving over 300 visitors the opportunity to explore a variety of great products and services presented at booths and workshops all around theCommons’ many open spaces. Companies represented included Novessence and Story Seoul Skincare, two natural cosmetic producers, Ampersand Ice Cream, and About Potatoes, a snack bar that prepared delicious dishes with potatoes and a choice of condiments. Workshops hosted at the event included interesting topics such as a holistic approach to health by EFT Thailand and homemade natural hair products by Healthy Hair Asia.
The highlight of the market was the eagerly awaited WED event with its outstanding speakers. Deputy Economic Officer of the U.S. Embassy Bangkok, Ms. Erin Nickerson, introduced WED and its purpose of inspiring women entrepreneurs around the world to make their dream of owning and running a successful business come true. Ms. Vicharee Vichit-Vadakan, co-founder of theCommons, and Suparadi Siwapornpitak, known as Finny the Chef, both accomplished businesswomen, shared their personal success stories. Emceed by the lovely Ms. Pinrat Yongpanchai, the event gave attendees the chance to interact with the speakers directly. This way they got answers to many questions concerning the challenges and rewards of owning and operating a business.
