The New Volvo S90 เป็นตัวอย่างหนึ่งที่สะท้อนแนวคิดการออกแบบวอลโว่ คือ Designed Around You โดยคิดคำนึงถึงผู้ใช้เป็นหลัก The New S90 เป็นรถนั่งซีดานรุ่นใหม่อีกคันหนึ่งที่ผู้คนทั่วโลกกล่าวขวัญถึงมากที่สุด เปี่ยมด้วยบุคลิกสง่าภูมิฐาน สวยหรูในสไตล์รถสแกนดิเนเวียน มิใช่แค่บุคลิกและความหรูหราสะดวกสบายเท่านั้น แต่เป็นนวัตกรรมยานยนต์ความปลอดภัยระดับโลกและมีเทคโนโลยีล้ำสมัย
          โครงสร้างตัวรถออกแบบโดย Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) ซึ่งเป็นแพลทฟอร์มการออกแบบทางวิศวกรรมที่นำสมัยที่สุดของวอลโว่และได้นำมาใช้กับรถวอลโว่ซีรี่ย์ 90 รุ่นใหม่ทั้งหมด เพื่อเพิ่มเนื้อที่ภายในห้องโดยสารให้กว้างขวางขึ้นและยังช่วยลดน้ำหนักโดยรวมของตัวรถ ประโยชน์ที่ได้ ก็คือ เพิ่มสมรรถนะ ประหยัดเชื้อเพลิง ลดมลภาวะ คล่องตัวและขับขี่ง่าย ทั้งนี้ไม่สูญเสียความแข็งแรงปลอดภัย เพราะใช้วัสดุที่มีแข็งแกร่งสูง เช่น เหล็กกล้าโบรอน (Ultra-High Strength BORON Steel) ทนการบิดและยืดหยุ่นตัวได้สูงมาก และอื่นๆ เป็นต้น
การออกแบบ
          ด้านหน้าวอลโว่ S90 ใหม่ได้รับการปรับโฉมหน้าใหม่ให้แฝงด้วยความมั่นใจในแบบฉบับของวอลโว่ โดยมีการออกแบบที่โดดเด่นมีเอกลักษณ์ อันได้แก่ รูปทรงไฟหน้าที่จำลองแบบ "ค้อนแห่งเทพเจ้าธอร์" (Thor Hammer) แบบแอลอีดีผนวกกับกระจังหน้าสวยหรูพร้อมตราโลโก้ iron mark รูปแบบใหม่ของวอลโว่ และโคมไฟท้ายรูปตัว C พร้อมตัวอักษร Volvo ที่ด้านท้ายรถ ตัวถังที่ล่ำสัน แนวไหล่ที่กว้าง สะท้อนความทรงพลัง Volvo S90 ใหม่มีตัวถังยาวและกว้างที่สุดในบรรดารถยนต์นั่งซีดานพรีเมี่ยม ตัวถังยาว 4,963 มม. กว้าง 1,879 มม. สูง 1,443 มม. ฐานล้อ (Wheelbase) 2,941 มม.

           การออกแบบตกแต่งภายในได้นำสไตล์ของ Volvo XC90 มายกระดับขึ้นอีกขั้น ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแผงหน้าปัดที่ออกแบบใหม่ที่แสดงผลกราฟฟิกที่มีสีสันขนาดใหญ่ 12.3 นิ้ว ภายในรถตกแต่งด้วยลายไม้ธรรมชาติสไตล์สแกนดิเนเวียน เบาะหนังแท้ Nappa นุ่มเนียนพิเศษต่อการสัมผัส ให้ความรู้สึกผ่อนคลายและนั่งได้สบายทั้งผู้ขับและผู้นั่งตลอดการเดินทาง หน้าจอสัมผัสขนาด 9.0 นิ้วเหนือคอนโซลกลาง พิถีพิถันแม้กระทั่งปุ่มปรับทิศทางของช่องลมแอร์แนวตั้งที่ขัดเกลาเคลือบด้วยโลหะรูปทรงเพชร ระบบกรองอากาศ Clean Zone ที่ดักละอองฝุ่น เกสรดอกไม้ อันเป็นสาเหตุของโรคภูมิแพ้ และสูดสัมผัสได้ถึงบรรยากาศในรถที่บริสุทธิ์สะอาดเหมือนที่สวีเดน แม้จะเป็นรถยนต์นั่งซีดาน 4 ประตูคันใหญ่ แต่ก็ไม่ลืมคุณสมบัติด้านอรรถประโยชน์ เช่น ช่องเก็บของรอบห้องโดยสาร ที่คอนโซลกลาง และที่วางแขนกลางเบาะหลัง พนักพิงเบาะหลังแยกพับราบได้ 60/40% เพิ่มเนื้อที่บรรทุกสัมภาระ ขณะเดียวกันก็สามารถนั่งโดยสารฝั่งหนึ่งใดของเบาะหลัง

Intellisafe ความปลอดภัยอัจฉริยะของโลก:
          ระบบความปลอดภัยของวอลโว่ หรือ Intellisafe ควบรวมระบบความปลอดภัยทั้งในป้องกันและปกป้อง The New VolvoS90 ใหม่ มาพร้อมกับเทคโนโลยีระดับแถวหน้าที่วอลโว่มีความภาคภูมิใจเป็นอย่างยิ่งและยังเป็นจุดขายของวอลโว่ แสดงออกถึงความเป็นผู้นำที่ล้ำหน้าในการพัฒนาและออกแบบรถยนต์ นั่นคือระบบ Pilot Assist เจนเนอร์เรชั่นที่ 2 เป็นระบบช่วยในการขับขี่กึ่งอัตโนมัติ ระบบนี้ช่วยในการบังคับและควบคุมพวงมาลัย และจะปรับตำแหน่งของรถให้วิ่งอยู่กึ่งกลางของเส้นขีดเลนบนท้องถนน ซึ่งฟังก์ชันดังกล่าวจะทำงานที่อัตราความเร็วสูงสุดที่ 130 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง และไม่ต้องอาศัยรถคันหน้าอีกต่อไป ทั้งนี้ Pilot Assist เป็นอีกหนึ่งก้าวสำคัญไปสู่วิสัยทัศน์ของวอลโว่ที่ว่า "ในปีค.ศ. 2020 จะต้องไม่มีผู้เสียชีวิตหรือบาดเจ็บสาหัสในรถวอลโว่รุ่นใหม่" นอกจากนี้ The New Volvo S90 ยังติดตั้งระบบความปลอดภัยอันเป็นนวัตกรรมของโลก คือ ระบบป้องกันรถยนต์วิ่งออกนอกช่องทาง (Run-Off Road Mitigation) ทำงานในย่านความเร็ว 65-140 กม./ชม. รวมทั้งระบบ City Safety ที่มาพร้อมกับเซนเซอร์ตรวจจับสัตว์ขนาดใหญ่ (Large Animal Detection) ซึ่งเป็นครั้งแรกของโลกที่นำระบบเหล่านี้ติดตั้งในรถยนต์นั่งซีดาน เพื่อการขับขี่ที่ปลอดภัยตลอดการเดินทางทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน

          Volvo Drive-E Powertrain ที่ติดตั้งใน The New Volvo S90 D4 Inscription ใหม่ เป็นเครื่องยนต์ดีเซลคอมมอนเรล ทวินเทอร์โบ 4 สูบแถวเรียง ขนาดความจุ 2,000 ซี.ซี. เพลาราวลิ้นคู่เหนือฝาสูบ(DOHC.) พร้อมเทคโนโลยีระบบหัวฉีดเชื้อเพลิงอัจฉริยะ i-ART กำลังสูงสุด 190 แรงม้าที่ 4,250 รอบต่อนาที และ แรงบิดสูงสุด 400 นิวตัน-เมตรที่ 1,750-2,500 รอบต่อนาที เกียร์อัตโนมัติเดินหน้า 8 สปีดพร้อมเกียร์ทรอนิค (Geartronic) และ 4 โหมดการขับขี่ ได้แก่ Comfort mode(เน้นความสะดวกสบาย), Eco mode(เน้นความประหยัดเชื้อเพลิง), Dynamic mode(เน้นสมรรถนะ), และ Individual mode(ปรับตั้งโปรแกรมขับขี่และน้ำหนักพวงมาลัยได้ตามต้องการ) สมรรถนะโดยรวม คือ อัตราเร่ง 0-100 กม./ชม.ในเวลาเพียง 8.2 วินาที ความเร็วสูงสุด 230 กม./ชม. อัตราสิ้นเปลืองน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงเฉลี่ยในเมืองนอกเมือง 19.6 กม./ลิตร ปริมาณก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ 133 กรัมต่อระยะทาง 1 กิโลเมตร

Volvo XC90 D5 Momentum เครื่องยนต์ดีเซลใหม่ แรง ประหยัดน้ำมันยิ่งกว่าเดิม
นับว่าประสบความสำเร็จอย่างสูงหลังจากที่เปิดตัวไปเมื่อเดือนมีนาคม เพราะล่าสุดยอดจองยาวถึงปีหน้า วอลโว่เติมเต็มตลาดด้วย XC90 D5 Momentum เครื่องยนต์ดีเซลขุมพลังใหม่ 1,969 ซีซี 235 แรงม้าที่ 4,000 รอบต่อนาที แรงบิด 480 นิวตันเมตรที่ 1,750-2,250 รอบต่อนาที ระบบขับเคลื่อนทุกล้อ (All-Wheel-Drive) อัตราสิ้นเปลืองน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงเฉลี่ยในเมืองนอกเมือง 17.2 กม.ต่อลิตร และปล่อยไอเสียเพียง 154 กรัมต่อก.ม. ถือได้ว่ารถ XC90 D5 Momentum เครื่องยนต์ใหม่ ทั้งแรง ประหยัดน้ำมันและเป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมมากขึ้น นอกจากนี้ยังได้แนะนำสีภายนอกใหม่อีก 1 สี คือสีเทาเมทัลลิค (Osmium Grey Metallic) ราคา 4,190,000 บาท

   The New Volvo S90 Flagship Executive Sedan is set to shine at the Motor Expo 2016 after sweeping leading automotive awards worldwide this year. The New Volvo S90 – Innovation Made by Sweden - is the ultimatum of design – perfectly balanced and eye-catching. The car packs class-leading innovations, Scandinavian elegance & comfort, cutting edge technologies, and Volvo's legendary safety levels. At the Motor Expo 2016, Volvo V40 T4 Facelift also arrives with a fresh new look and new optimised powertrain; exactly what the premium hatchback lovers been yearning for.

          The New Volvo S90 is one of the examples reflecting Volvo's user-centric design concept, "Designed Around You." The New Volvo S90 is the premium executive sedan that stormed the automotive industry this year as it swept more than a dozen leading automotive awards worldwide including the Luxury Car of the Year award in the USA, Red Dot Design Award in Germany and the Annual Luxury Executive Sedan award in China. The New Volvo S90 is about Scandinavian characters and comfort, and also – not surprisingly as this is a Volvo - one of the most innovative and safest vehicles available to date.
          Scalable Product Architecture is Volvo's advanced modular product platform underpinning all the 90 series Volvo. The structure allows wider passenger cabin and reduces the overall weight of the car, which in turn improves performance, fuel efficiency, and carbon emission. The car remains an easy drive, without compensating with its safety, due to the high-strength materials like Ultra-High Strength Boron Steel that boasts durability and flexibility.

Design
          Like its siblings XC90, The New S90 carries the proud and confident face of Volvo's new design language, along with classic Volvo styling cues. Key features include the iconic "Thor's Hammer" Full LED active high beam illumination and daytime running lights, the new grille and new Volvo Iron Mark, and the expressive use of the Volvo word mark on the rear. On the vehicle's rear-end, it is equipped with a unique C-shaped LED brake lights and VOLVO lettering. The vehicle has been significantly enlarged , now measuring a length of 4,963 mm, width of 1,879 mm, height of 1,443 mm, and with a long wheelbase of 2,941 mm, making the vehicle more spacious than before.

          The interior design que from the Volvo XC90 raised the bar with some stunning details on the new dashboard, the 12.3-in colour graphical driver display instrument panel, the natural Scandinavian wood accent of the interior, super soft Nappa leather upholstery, offering passengers with relaxation and comfort, the 9.0 touch screen at the center console, the new air blades that stand vertically on each side of the Sensus® , Clean Zone air purification system that filters dusts and pollen that can induce allergy, allowing the in-cabin air to feel as pure as the Swedish air. This 4-door large sedan is equipped with functionalities, including in-cabin cabinets, at the center console and arm rest at the middle of the back seat. The seat can be folded out 60/40%, increasing the trunk space, while allowing passenger to sit in one of the seats in the back seat.

Sensus Connect® technology and Bowers & Wilkins® audio system
          All new Volvos are now connected, thanks to Volvo's connectivity offering called Sensus Connect, one of the world-first system which is compatible with the Apple CarPlay®. It allows for easier link-up of the iOS devices, such as iPhone, to the vehicle's built-in software where the iPhone screen can appear on the 9-inch display. The system boasts modernity, convenience, and safety. In addition, The New Volvo S90 comes equipped with one of the world best stereo systems, the Premium Sound by the Bowers & Wilkins ®, which was first equipped in the all-new XC90. This top performing sound system comes with 1,400 Watt, Class-D, 12-channel amplifier with 19 loudspeakers and a unique air-ventilated subwoofer delivers richer, deeper bass by drawing air in from outside the car so it can pulse more air through the speaker. There are three different 'Room Modes', which is a unique feature. The modes are 'Studio', 'Individual Stage' and 'Gothenburg Concert Hall', which has an acoustic design recreating the unique acoustic experience of the Gothenburg Concert Hall.

Intellisafe: The world's smart safety system
          Volvo's overall safety offering, called IntelliSafe, encompasses both active and passive safety systems. The new Volvo S90 comes with Volvo's front lining technologies and forms the groundwork for Volvo's leadership in the field of autonomous drive, Pilot Assist. The second generation is a semi-autonomous driving system that helps adjust and control the steering inputs to keep the car properly aligned within lane markings up to motorway speeds of around 130 km/h on clearly marked roads and no longer needs to follow another car. Pilot Assist is another step towards Volvo's Vision 2020, which states that no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo by 2020.
The S90 is also equipped with the world's leading safety innovation, namely the Run-Off Road Mitigation that works between 65-140 kilometre/hour, including the City Safety system that is further extended in The New S90 with Large Animal Detection, designed to help keep you safe day and night.

DRIVE-E Powertrain technology
          Besides the cutting edge innovation, the new S90 also boasts its performance and fuel efficiency. The New Volvo S90 D4 Inscription is available with Volvo's Drive-E Powertrain commonrail diesel twin-turbo with i-Art technology. Volvo's award-winning in-house developed 2.0-litre 4 cylinder engines form the basis of Volvo's powertrain offer with 8-speed automatic transmission, a maximum of 190hp, and 400Nm of torque at 1,750rpm-2,500rpm. There are 4 driving modes: Comfort, Eco, Dynamic, and Individual. The car accelerates from rest to 100km/h in just 8.2 seconds, with an average fuel consumption of 19.6 km/l, and has CO2 emission of 133 grams per kilometre.
Volvo reveals V40 T4 Facelift with new Powertrain at the Motor Expo 2016
          Volvo introduces Volvo V40 T4 Facelift, the new sporty five-door premium hatchback, improved with many details blending the unique Scandinavian design and distinctive concave grille, new Volvo logo, and the Thor's Hammer headlights.
          Equipped with the true innovation in powertrain and engine, the V40 T4 comes with the Drive-E powertrain and two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, making it a fun, fast, responsive, and exciting drive without hampering the fuel efficiency. The T4 petrol engine offers 190 horsepower at 4,700 rpm, 300 Nm torque between 1,300 – 4,000 rpm. With 210 kilometre per hour top speed, the V40 T4 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometre per hour in 6.9 seconds. The model's fuel consumption averages to 16.4 kilometre per litre and only emits 142 gram per 1 kilometre, transforming the drive into a new, exciting, dynamic and safe one.
Volvo XC90 D5 Momentum comes with New Powerful yet Efficient Diesel Powertrain
          From its overwhelming success after the launch in March, Volvo XC90 D5 Momentum receives booking till next year. The car is powered by 2.0-liter diesel engine, offering 235 hp at 4,000 rpm, 480 Nm torque between 1,750 – 2,250 rpm via all-wheel drive system. The model's fuel consumption in the city and the suburb averages to 17.2 kilometre per liter and only emits 154 gram per 1 kilometre. The XC90 D5 Momentum with the new engine is more powerful, fuel efficient, and environmentally friendly. The model also offers one more exterior color, Osmium Grey Metallic, priced at 4,190,000 Baht.
