          สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เสด็จพระราชดำเนินเป็นองค์ประธานในพิธีเปิดงาน The 10th Edition of the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) หรือการประชุมเทคโนโลยีปิโตรเลียมนานาชาติ ครั้งที่ 10 ซึ่งบริษัท ปตท.สำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียม จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ ปตท.สผ. เป็นเจ้าภาพในการจัดงาน ณ โรงแรมเซ็นทาราแกรนด์และบางกอกคอนเวนชันเซ็นเตอร์ เซ็นทรัลเวิลด์ กรุงเทพฯ

          ในพิธีพลเอกอนันตพร กาญจนรัตน์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพลังงาน นายปิยสวัสดิ์ อัมระนันทน์ ประธานกรรมการบริษัท ปตท. จำกัด (มหาชน) นายปรัชญา ภิญญาวัธน์ ประธานกรรมการ ปตท.สผ. นายเทวินทร์ วงศ์วานิช ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารและกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บริษัท ปตท. จำกัด (มหาชน) ในฐานะที่ปรึกษากิตติมศักดิ์ของคณะกรรมการบริหาร IPTC นายสมพร ว่องวุฒิพรชัย ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารและกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ ปตท.สผ. ในฐานะประธานคณะกรรมการบริหารการประชุม IPTC นายเดวิด แบลนชาร์ด ประธานกรรมการ IPTC พร้อมคณะกรรมการจัดงาน IPTC และคณะผู้บริหาร ปตท.สผ. เฝ้ารับเสด็จ จากนั้นได้เสด็จทอดพระเนตรนิทรรศการต่าง ๆ ภายในงานด้วยความสนพระทัย

          สำหรับไฮไลท์ของงานในวันนี้ มีการประกาศรางวัลความเป็นเลิศในการบูรณาการโครงการ (IPTC Excellence in Project Integration Award) ซึ่งตัดสินโดยคณะกรรมการ IPTC โดยผู้ชนะเลิศ คือ บริษัท โททาล (Total) ในโครงการพัฒนาแหล่ง Laggan และ Tormore ซึ่งอยู่นอกชายฝั่งทางตะวันตกของเกาะเช็ทแลนด์ ประเทศอังกฤษ ที่ได้ใช้เทคโนโลยีเข้ามาช่วยในการพัฒนาปิโตรเลียมท่ามกลางสภาะวะแวดล้อมที่ไม่เอื้ออำนวย รวมถึง การใช้นวัตกรรมใหม่ๆ ที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม

          พลเอกอนันตพร ยังได้กล่าวปาฐกถาถึงความท้าทายด้านพลังงานในประเทศ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งปิโตรเลียม ซึ่งเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจ และเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศ โดยประเทศไทยสามารถผลิตก๊าซธรรมชาติได้เองเป็นเวลาเกือบ 40 ปีแล้วในแหล่งเอราวัณ และแหล่งปิโตรเลียมอีกหลายแหล่งทั้งบนบกและนอกชายฝั่ง อาทิ แหล่งบงกช และอาทิตย์ที่ดำเนินการโดย ปตท.สผ. คิดเป็นปริมาณการผลิตมากกว่าครึ่งหนึ่งของประเทศ โครงการเหล่านี้ไม่เพียงแต่จะสร้างความมั่นคงทางพลังงานให้แก่ประเทศ แต่ยังเป็นการลดการนำเข้าพลังงานอีกด้วย

          อย่างไรก็ตาม ปัจจุบันกระทรวงพลังงานและภาคเอกชนต้องเผชิญความท้าทายหลายประการ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นราคาน้ำมันต่ำ และเศรษฐกิจโลกที่ผันผวน ซึ่งความชำนาญและความสามารถทางด้านเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมจะเป็นกุญแจสำคัญ ทั้งนี้ ความมั่นคงทางพลังงานยังคงเป็นวาระสำคัญของรัฐบาล โดยการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมใหม่ๆ เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพนั้นเป็นหนึ่งในนโยบายการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจของประเทศไทยภายใต้โมเดล "ประเทศไทย 4.0" ซึ่งภายใต้นโยบายดังกล่าว นวัตกรรม เทคโนโลยี และความคิดสร้างสรรค์จะช่วยให้ประเทศก้าวเข้าสู่สังคมแห่งการเรียนรู้ (Knowledge-Based Society) และเศรษฐกิจที่ขับเคลื่อนด้วยนวัตกรรม (Value-Based Economy) อันเป็นการลดการใช้ทรัพยากรเพื่อให้เกิดคุณค่ามากที่สุด ซึ่งจะทำให้ประเทศไทยในศตวรรษที่ 21 พัฒนาไปสู่ความมั่นคง มั่งคั่ง และยั่งยืน โดยเชื่อว่างานประชุม IPTC ในครั้งนี้จะเป็นโอกาสดีที่ทุกภาคส่วนจะได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นและประสบการณ์ และร่วมมือกันสร้างสรรค์นวัตกรรม อันจะส่งผลดีต่อทั้งอุตสาหกรรมพลังงานและต่อประเทศไทย

          ภายในงาน IPTC นอกจากจะมีการประชุมเชิงวิชาการ แล้ว ยังมีการจัดแสดงนิทรรศการเกี่ยวกับนวัตกรรมและเทคโนโลยีที่น่าสนใจจากบริษัทน้ำมันและก๊าซทั่วโลกกว่า 30 บริษัท โดยนิทรรศการของ ปตท.สผ. และกลุ่ม ปตท. ที่นำมาจัดแสดง ประกอบด้วยนิทรรศการ "พระบิดาแห่งการพัฒนาพลังงานไทย" แสดงพระราชกรณียกิจและพระอัจริยภาพด้านพลังงานของพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช และนิทรรศการ "PTT Group Business Value Chain" แสดงภาพรวมการดำเนินงานของ 7 บริษัทในกลุ่ม ปตท. จากต้นน้ำสู่ปลายน้ำ ด้วยความมุ่งมั่นในการพัฒนานวัตกรรมและเทคโนโลยีในอุตสาหกรรมปิโตรเลียม เพื่อสร้างความมั่นคงทางพลังงานให้แก่ประเทศ นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการจัดแสดงเทคโนโลยีล่าสุดจากบริษัทปิโตรเลียมชั้นนำทั่วโลก อาทิ PETRONAS, Halliburton Energy Services Inc., China National Petroleum Corporation, Qatar Petroleum, Kuwait Oil Company และ Schlumberger เป็นต้น

          สำหรับเทคโนโลยีที่ ปตท.สผ. นำมาจัดแสดงในครั้งนี้ ได้แก่ ยานยนต์ใต้น้ำควบคุมด้วยตัวเอง (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle หรือ AUV) ซึ่งเป็นเทคโนโลยีที่คนไทยพัฒนาขึ้นมาโดยเฉพาะสำหรับกิจกรรมสำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียมของ ปตท.สผ. ที่จะช่วยเพิ่มขีดความสามารถด้านวิศวกรรมในการซ่อมบำรุง ลดต้นทุน และยังเพิ่มความปลอดภัยในการปฏิบัติงาน นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการจัดแสดงผลงานของนักเรียนมัธยมปลาย จาก 20 โรงเรียนทั่วประเทศที่ผ่านการคัดเลือกให้เข้าร่วมในกิจกรรมEducation Days and Teachers' Day ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมหนึ่งในงาน IPTC โดยนักเรียนได้นำโครงงานทางวิทยาศาสตร์และผลงานแบบจำลอง 3 มิติที่สามารถปฏิบัติได้จริงมาร่วมประกวดในหัวข้อเกี่ยวกับการอนุรักษ์และความมั่นคงทางด้านพลังงานของประเทศไทย และชุมชนที่ใช้พลังงานซึ่งเป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมและระบบนิเวศมาจัดแสดง ซึ่งโรงเรียนผู้ชนะเลิศจะได้รับเงินรางวัลทุนการศึกษา พร้อมถ้วยรางวัลจาก ปตท.สผ.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn honours 10th International Petroleum Technology Conference by presiding over the opening ceremony



          Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of the 10th Edition of the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), which is being hosted by PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, or PTTEP, at Centara Grand hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre, CentralWorld, Bangkok.

          Present to greet HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn were General Anataporn Kanjanarat, Minister of Energy, Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, Chairman of PTT Public Company Limited, Mr. Prajya Pinyawat, Chairman of the Board of PTTEP, Mr. Tevin Vongvanich, President and CEO of PTT Public Company Limited on behalf of IPTC Honourable Advisor to the Executive Committee, Mr. Somporn Vongvuthipornchai, President and CEO of PTTEP on behalf of IPTC Executive Committee Chairman, Mr. David Blanchard, Chairman of the Board of IPTC, along with the IPTC committee and executives of PTTEP in attendance. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also visited the exhibition in the conference.

          Today's highlight is the announcement of IPTC Excellence in Project Integration Award, which was decided by IPTC comittee, to present the award to TOTAL's Laggan and Tormore fields, offshore West of the Shetland Islands, UK. The project was executed using new technologies to overcome the harsh environment. Interesting innovations saw new methods of environmental protection deployed on a huge scale.

          General Anantaporn also gave a keynote speech on the energy challenges in Thailand, especially petroleum, which is a vital factor driving the Thai economy and enhancing the country's competitiveness. It has been almost 40 years since the first natural gas was produced from Erawan Field and successive discoveries of gas and oil fields, both offshore and onshore, including the Greater Bongkot and Arthit operated by PTTEP. Our own produced natural gas accounts for more than half of National Gas Supply. This not only enriches the security of supply, but also relieves the public cost-burden due to volatile prices of imported energy resources.

          However, at present the Ministry and the industry have been jointly working to overcome many challenges such as low oil price crisis and uncertain global economic situation. Extensive expertise, technical capabilities and continuous innovation have proved to be the key. The security of energy supply is still on top of the government agenda. Newly developed technology and innovation for efficiency improvement are clearly stated in government Thailand 4.0 Policy. With this policy, innovation, technology and creativity would help the nation to transform towards a knowledge-based society and value-based economy, which requires less resources to create more value. Therefore, Thailand in the 21st century can thrive through security, prosperity and sustainability. Gen. Anantaporn reiterated that IPTC is a great opportunity for participants to exchange their ideas and experiences, as well as opportunities for collaboration on innovation and efficiency improvement, delivering a win-win solution for the industry and the country.

          In addition to the technical conference, IPTC also hosts an exhibition displaying numerous interesting innovations and technologies from over 30 oil and gas companies worldwide, including PTTEP. PTTEP exhibited projects and innovations in energy inspired by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in the exhibition titled "The Father of Thai Energy Development", as well as a zone for "PTTP Group Business Value Chain", which will show the connected work processes of the 7 companies in PTT Group's operations covering the business value chain from upstream to downstream, with its commitment to the continuous improvement of innovation and technology to provide energy security for the country. Additionally, the exhibition will contain exhibits of the latest technology from global companies, such as PETRONAS, Halliburton Energy Services Inc., China National Petroleum Corporation, Qatar Petroleum, Kuwait Oil Company, and Schlumberger.

          The technology PTTEP showcase at this event is the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle or AUV, developed by Thai people, for its exploration and production activities, which will increase the inspection capabilities, reduce cost, as well as improve safety. Furthermore, the event shows the work of students that have attended an Education Days and Teacher Days, one of the activities of IPTC, in which high school students from 20 schools nationwide were selected to participate. As a part of a competition, those students will exhibit their science projects and 3D mini models related to the energy conservation and security for our country, and an environmentally and ecologically friendly community. The winning school will receive a scholarship and a trophy from PTTEP.
