บริษัท อินทัช โฮลดิ้งส์ จำกัด (มหาชน) ประกาศแต่งตั้งนายฟิลิป เชียง ชอง แทน (Mr. Phillip Chen Chong Tan) รักษาการในตำแหน่งประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร กลุ่มอินทัช (Acting Group Chief Executive Officer) ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 มกราคม 2559 โดยดำรงตำแหน่งแทนนายสมประสงค์ บุญยะชัย ที่เกษียณอายุเมื่อวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 2558

ก่อนหน้านี้นายฟิลิป ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้ดำรงตำแหน่ง กรรมการผู้อำนวยการ (President) บมจ.อินทัช โฮลดิ้งส์ เมื่อวันที่ 1 พฤศจิกายน ที่ผ่านมา  มีประสบการณ์และความเชี่ยวชาญทางด้านการเงิน เคยทำงานกับบริษัทข้ามชาติในประเทศไทยและสหรัฐอเมริกามากกว่า 27 ปี  เช่น บริษัท เอทีแอนด์ที (ประเทศไทย), เบลล์แล็ปส์ และเข้าสู่ธุรกิจบริการด้านการเงินโดยทำงานกับบริษัท จีอี แคปปิตอล จำกัด โดยเป็นทีมร่วมก่อตั้งบริษัท จีอี แคปปิตอล ในประเทศไทย ดำรงตำแหน่ง Chief Information Officer บริษัท จีอี แคปปิตอล คอมเมอร์เชียล เซอร์วิส และ Senior Vice President – Business Intelligence บริษัท จีอี คอร์ปอเรท ไฟแนนเชียล เซอร์วิส มลรัฐคอนเนคติกัต ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาตามลำดับ และในปี 2550 กลับมารับตำแหน่ง Chief Marketing Officer บริษัท จีอี มันนี่ (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด และได้รับแต่งตั้งเป็น Chief Executive Officer ในปี 2552 ด้วย นอกจากนี้ นายฟิลิปยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในการควบรวมและขยายธุรกิจบัตรเครดิต สินเชื่อบุคคลรายย่อย และธุรกิจสินเชื่อรถยนต์ หลังจากที่ธนาคารกรุงศรีอยุธยา จำกัด (มหาชน) ได้เข้าซื้อกิจการจากจีอี เอไอจี และเอชเอสบีซี

นายฟิลิป กล่าวว่า "การเข้ามารับตำแหน่งในครั้งนี้ ถือเป็นเรื่องที่น่าตื่นเต้นและมีความท้าทายเป็นอย่างมากเป็นโอกาสที่สำคัญสำหรับผมในการเป็นผู้นำองค์กรขนาดใหญ่ที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในการช่วยเหลือพัฒนาสังคมและประเทศมาโดยตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา สำหรับผมถือเป็นบทบาทที่ยิ่งใหญ่และมีคุณค่ามาก คุณสมประสงค์ได้วางรากฐาน วางกลยุทธ์การดำเนินงานที่แข็งแกร่งเพื่อสร้างองค์กรให้เติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน และดูแลผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียทุกกลุ่มอย่างเป็นธรรม ไม่ว่าจะเป็นผู้ถือหุ้น นักลงทุน คู่ค้า เจ้าหนี้ ลูกค้า พนักงาน และสังคม ผมมีความตั้งใจเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่จะสานต่อนโยบายหลักดังกล่าว ภายใต้คำแนะนำของคณะกรรมการบริษัทและคุณสมประสงค์ รวมถึงจะได้นำความรู้ความสามารถและประสบการณ์ของผมในด้านเทคโนโลยี ธุรกิจค้าปลีก และการจัดการลูกค้ามาปรับใช้ ขณะเดียวกันผมจะดำเนินงานตามหลักการของการกำกับดูแลกิจการที่ดีเพื่อสร้างการเติบโต และความเจริญก้าวหน้าอย่างมั่นคงให้กับบริษัทและกลุ่มอินทัชในอนาคต"

ในโอกาสนี้ บริษัทฯ ขอแสดงความขอบคุณต่อนายสมประสงค์ ที่ได้ทุ่มเททำงานด้วยความมุ่งมั่นและตั้งใจให้กับกลุ่มอินทัช ตลอดระยะเวลา 24 ปีที่ผ่านมา จนสามารถฟันฝ่าอุปสรรคต่างๆ อันเนื่องมาจากความท้าทายและแรงกดดันที่เกิดจากสภาวะแวดล้อมภายนอกที่เปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรุนแรงและรวดเร็วทั้งในทางการเมือง  เศรษฐกิจ และสังคม ด้วยความรู้ ความสามารถ ความมีวิริยะ อุตสาหะ และมีวิสัยทัศน์ที่กว้างไกลของนายสมประสงค์ ที่ได้วางรากฐานของความสำเร็จและการเติบโตที่มั่นคง และยั่งยืนให้กับกลุ่มอินทัช จนเป็นที่ประจักษ์และเป็นที่ยอมรับแก่สาธารณชนทั้งในประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศ จนได้รับการยกย่องให้รับรางวัลผู้บริหารสูงสุดยอดเยี่ยม Best CEO Awards จากตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย ที่มอบให้แก่ผู้บริหารสูงสุดที่มีความเป็นผู้นำ มีวิสัยทัศน์ ความรู้ ความสามารถในการนำองค์กรสู่ความสำเร็จ รวมถึงเป็นผู้ยึดถือหลักคุณธรรมในการบริหารองค์กรถึงสองครั้ง ครั้งแรกในปี 2555 และครั้งล่าสุดในปี 2558 ขณะเดียวกันบริษัทฯ ยังได้รับรางวัลแห่งความสำเร็จต่างๆ มาอย่างต่อเนื่อง อาทิ รางวัล คณะกรรมการแห่งปีดีเด่นจากสถาบันกรรมการบริษัทไทย  รางวัลบริษัทจดทะเบียนด้านผลการดำเนินงานยอดเยี่ยมจากตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย เป็นครั้งที่ 2 โดยครั้งแรกในปี 2556 รางวัลสุดยอดหุ้นขวัญใจมหาชน และรางวัลหุ้นขวัญใจมหาชนกลุ่มเทคโนโลยีในปี 2555 และ 2557 เป็นต้น

นายสมประสงค์ กล่าวว่า “ผมมีความเชื่อมั่นในตัวคุณฟิลิป เพราะเท่าที่ผมได้รู้จัก ผมเห็นว่าคุณฟิลิปเป็นคนที่รับฟังความคิดเห็นของผู้อื่น (open mind) ซึ่งเป็นคุณสมบัติที่ดีของผู้นำ มีความเฉลียวฉลาด และมีวิสัยทัศน์กว้างไกลในอันที่จะสร้างความเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืนให้กับองค์กร (intelligent and long term thinking) ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่ผมยินดีมาก คุณฟิลิปมีแนวคิดที่ตรงกับผมในการที่จะสร้างประโยชน์ในระยะยาวให้กับบริษัทและกลุ่มผู้มีส่วนได้เสีย นอกจากนี้ คุณฟิลิปยังเป็นคนที่มีความรู้ ความสามารถ (competency) สั่งสมประสบการณ์ด้านการเงิน การธนาคาร และด้านอื่นๆ มากมาย ซึ่งสามารถนำมาปรับใช้ให้สอดคล้องกับการบริหารงานของอินทัชที่เป็นบริษัทบริหารสินทรัพย์ (Holding Company) ให้เจริญก้าวหน้าอย่างมั่นคงและยั่งยืนต่อไป”

ทั้งนี้ นายสมประสงค์  จะยังคงดำรงตำแหน่งที่ปรึกษาประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 มกราคม 2559 ถึง 31 ธันวาคม 2559 และดำรงตำแหน่งกรรมการและประธานคณะกรรมการบริหารของบริษัท รวมทั้งดำรงตำแหน่งกรรมการในบริษัท แอดวานซ์ อินโฟร์ เซอร์วิส จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท ไทยคม จำกัด (มหาชน) และบริษัท แอดวานซ์ ไวร์เลส เน็ทเวอร์ค จำกัด

Intouch Holdings Plc. (INTOUCH) would like to announce the appointment of Mr. Philip Chen Chong Tan as Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (Acting G-CEO) of INTOUCH Group in place of Mr. Somprasong Boonyachai, who has retired on December 31, 2015. This appointment became effective on January 1, 2016.

Mr. Philip Tan was appointed as the Company President of INTOUCH on November 1, 2015. He is a senior executive with a successful professional track record of more than 27 years in the United States and Thailand. He has worked at companies such as AT&T in Thailand and Bell Labs, and successfully crossed into the financial services sector with GE Capital. Mr. Philip was one of the pioneering team members who established GE Capital's presence in Thailand. He was in Business Development (M&A), Quality (6 Sigma Quality Leader) and E-Commerce, before taking on the role of Chief Information Officer of GE Capital Commercial Services and SVP Business Intelligence Manager at GE Corporate Financial Service based in Norwalk, Connecticut, USA. He returned to Thailand in 2007 as Chief Marketing Officer of GE Capital (Thailand) and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2009.

Before joining INTOUCH, Mr. Philip undertook the role of leading a sizable credit card, personal loan and auto financing business at the Bank of Ayudhya Plc. (BAY) that was formerly acquired from GE, AIG and HSBC. Subsequently he was appointed Head of Retail and Consumer Banking, overseeing the entire retail banking and consumer financing business in BAY Group. He was also an executive director at BAY as well as chairman of the board at six of its subsidiaries.

Mr. Philip said “This is indeed a very exciting and challenging role, and a very significant opportunity for me to lead an organization that can make a lot of contributions to our society and Thailand as a whole.  This role is definitely bigger than myself and I am humbled by this opportunity. Khun Somprasong has laid strong fundamentals of this organization and implemented strategies that will enable our Group to grow and deliver sustainably for our stakeholders, investors, employees and customers.  I intend to build on top of these core policies, and under the guidance of the Company’s Board of Directors and Khun Somprasong advisory-ship, utilize my knowledge, competencies and prior experiences in technology, retail business and customer management to continue in this mission. Similarly, I also believe in principles of good Corporate Governance and will continue in the path already set forth to ensure we are in compliance and continue to deliver higher quality and standards for Intouch, fueling growth, prosperity and future successes”

The Company would like to thank Mr. Somprasong for his commitment and determination during more than 24 years of service at INTOUCH Group. He was able to deliver great operational performance despite facing difficult and challenging circumstances, such as political and economic uncertainty and social changes, all of which had an impact on the group from time to time. With his clear vision, expertise and perseverance, he showed us the way to face these challenges and still maintain a mindset of sustainable development. 

Mr. Somprasong’s leadership efforts and accomplishments have been widely recognized and honored by many reputable Thai and international institutions. He received the Best CEO Award from the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2012 and 2015, in recognition of his leadership, vision, business ethics, knowledge and skill, all of which have driven the Company towards success and sustainable growth. During this period, the Company received many prestigious awards, such as “Board of the Year Award 2015” from the Thai Institute of Directors Association and “Best Company Performance Award” from the SET in 2013 and 2015, along with both the “Best Popular Stock Award” and the “Best Popular Technology Stock Award” in 2012 and 2014.

Mr. Somprasong added “I strongly believe in Khun Philip. Khun Philip is an open-minded person with good leadership qualities. He is an intelligent individual with long-term mindset necessary for sustainably growing the company.  Khun Philip and I have another thing in common; we both think and make decisions with long-term benefits for the company and stakeholders.  In addition, Khun Philip is a capable and competent leader with in-depth experiences in finance, banking and other industries, when applied to managing INTOUCH as a Holding Company will bring sustainable growth and success thereafter.”

Mr. Somprasong has been appointed as Advisor to Group Chief Executive Officer from January 1 to December 31, 2016. He will continue his roles as a director of INTOUCH and Chairman of the Executive Committee as well as the Company’s representative director at AIS, Thaicom and AWN.
