AirAsia Bali Beach Run 2015 a Roaring Success
KUTA BEACH, BALI, 6 SEPTEMBER 2015 – AirAsia, the world's best low-cost carrier for seven consecutive years, today enjoyed yet another successful AirAsiaBali Beach Run. This year's race -the largest beach run race in Indonesia- took place in Kuta Beach, Bali, for the second time following the successful first AirAsiaBali Beach Run in 2013.
The race attracted over 1,800 participants, and was officiated by AirAsia Indonesiaand Indonesia AirAsia X's Board of Commissioners, accompanied by President Director of AirAsia Indonesia Sunu Widyatmoko as well as Hendra Lapusa, President Director of PT Trijaya Dewata which was the event organizer of Bali Beach Run.

The race commenced at 06:30 a.m. local time, and ended when the last runner crossed the finish line at 08:40 a.m Bali time.
In the men's 10k category, Dennis Isika from Kenya finished in first place with a time of 00:34:03 while the winner of the women's 10k category was Jackline Musyawa Nzivo from Kenya with a time of 00:40:52. Both winners were awarded IDR 5 million in prize money, shopping vouchers, and 100.000 BIG points from AirAsia BIG Loyalty Programme that can be redeemed for free flights across AirAsia's networks. AirAsia BIG Loyalty Programme is also a co-sponsor of BaliBeach Run 2015.
In the men's 5k category, Samgar Kamlasi from Kenya clinched first place in00:18:51 Meanwhile, the women's 5k category was won by Ni Kadek Ayu Sukamitifrom Indonesia who crossed the line in 00:23:07. The winners brought home IDR 1million, shopping vouchers and 50.000 AirAsia BIG points.
In addition to the 5k and 10k categories, this year's AirAsia Bali Beach Run also offered 2.5k category to accommodate first-time runners and families.
Registered runners across all categories were seen enjoying the run on the white sandy beach of Kuta to the hip Seminyak Beach before finishing at Kuta again.
Besides the beach race, AirAsia Bali Beach Run also hosted a Pop Up Food and Fashion Bazaar where runners and spectators were able to purchase Indonesia's fashion items and leather crafts. The bazaar was aimed at supporting the development of local brands and communities in line with AirAsia's commitment to boost Indonesia's tourism. Mouth-watering dishes and snacks were also made available at the bazaar, from ice cream, french fries, burgers to pizzas.
