Thai AirAsia takes “Best of Airline” honor from ‘The Best of Thailand Awards’ with over 5.56 million votes from Chinese users of Weibo.com!
Thai AirAsia has been awarded “Best of Airline” in the inaugural ‘The Best of Thailand Awards Voted by Chinese Tourists’ organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) using votes from Weibo.com, where over 5.56 million users of the site voted for the airline. The grand award ceremony took place at the Central Post Office in Bangrak, Bangkok this past 2, June 2015 presided over by Minister of Tourism and Sports Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul.
The Best of Thailand Awards Voted by Chinese Tourists was a campaign to compare Thai tourism products and services to find out which were most favored by Chinese travelers. The awards covered 17 service categories with the Best of Airline category containing 5 carriers. Thai AirAsia took the competition, receiving a commemorative plaque and certificate accepted by Miss Witchunee Kuntapeng, Head of Guest Service for Thai AirAsia, who dressed in traditional Thai garb in honor of the TAT’s Discover Thainess 2015 campaign.

The Best of Thailand Awards Voted by Chinese Tourists received votes from Chinese users of Weibo.com from 8-29 May 2015. Users could only vote once per IP a day with the TAT reporting over 5.56 million IPs taking part. The project attracted the attention of many users with its details tallying 35.73 million views and with over 100 million instances of attention, indicating massive exposure among China’s travelers.
