AFET Board of Directors Appoints Dr. Chaipat Sahaskul to Chairman
Dr. Chaipat Sahaskul, Ph.D. (Economics) has been appointed by the Board of Directors to the Chairman of the Board of Directors – The Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand (AFET).
He is a very knowledgeable, competent, and well-qualified expertise in Economics, Money Markets, Capital Markets, Management, Strategic Management, Risk Management, and Corporate Governance. His experiences include Secretary-General – The Office of The Agricultural Futures Trading Commission; Member of Board of Governors – The Stock Exchange of Thailand; Executive Committee of the Executive Board of Appeal Committee – The Office of The Securities and Exchange Commission; Senior Vice President and Spokesperson – The Stock Exchange of Thailand; Committee Member, Economics Faculty – Thammasat University, and so forth.
Dr. Sahaskul received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester in New York, USA; M.A. in Economics; and B.A. (First Class Honor) in Economics, both from Thammasat University.
Moreover, he has gone through a number of trainings and held a lot of executive diplomas and certificates, such as, Diploma in National Defence for The Joint State-Private Sector Course (Class 21) – The National Defence College of Thailand; Politics and Governance in Democratic Systems for Executives Course (Class 11) – King Prajadhipok’s Institute; Accounting for Non-Accounting Audit Committee; Certificate, Capital Market Academy Leadership Program (Class 12) – The Stock Exchange of Thailand; International Regulators Symposium 2002 – U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Illinois, USA; International Regulators Meeting – U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and International Futures Industry Conference; Certificate, Directors Certification Program – Thai Institute of Directors Association; Futures and Options Certificate Program – The Chicago Mercantile Exchange and DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, USA; Management Problem Solving and Decision Making Program – Kepner Tregoe (Thailand) Ltd.; and People Management Workshop – Kepner Tregoe (Thailand) Ltd.
Dr. Chaipat Sahaskul also wrote a few books and articles, such as, Rice Subsidy Scheme, Year 2004-2005; How To Utilize Agricultural Futures Exchange Mechanisms, The Office of The Agricultural Futures Trading Commission, Year 2008 and 2009; and The Futures Exchange, The Stock Exchange of Thailand, Year 2004 and 2005, etc.
