Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association Pushing Thailand to tap Asean markets and become the hub of printing technologies and supplies in the region
Successful promoting the “GASMA PRINT 2014” to entrepreneurs in Myanmar printing industry
The GASMA PRINT 2014 Roadshow in Yangon Myanmar was jointly organized by Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association (Thai GASMA) and Myanmar Printing and Publishers Association: MPPA at Kandawgyi Palace Hotel in Yankon. The association staged the event to invite Mayanmar printing industry to visit the GASMA PRINT 2014” and also strengthened the bilateral relationship that will bring more cooperation, business alliance and trade and business opportunities in the future when the regional integration the Asean Economic Community arrives in late 2015. The “GASMA PRINT 2014” is the third trade exhibition of printing technologies, equipment and materials that will be held during 24-27 September, 2014 at Bitec Hall 103-104, organized by the Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association.
Mr. Chaiwat Hansomwong, President of the Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association, said through the cooperation, the association got the confirmation of around 120 attendees of entrepreneurs from Yangon and Mandalay to visit the event in Thailand, which will open opportunities for “Business Matching” and trade negotiation. The association has its full hope to see the successful “GASMA PRINT 2014” that will eventually help push Thailand as the hub of printing materials and equipment in this region. This fair is also one of the most important events to showcase printing technologies, materials and equipment in Asean.
He said the GASMA PRINT 2014 Roadshow, Yangon, Myanmar, which was an activity to promote “GASMA PRINT 2014” was honored to welcome Mr. Boon Intiratana, Minister Counsellor (Commercial), Office of Commercial Affairs in Myanmar at the event where he met entrepreneurs of Myanmar printing industry. The event also welcomed presidents of Myanmar Printing and Publishers Association: MPPA and Mandalay Region Printer and Publishers Association.

There was also a presentation, entitled The Basic Fundamental of “Color Management System” by Supree Thongpetch, Executive Board Member of Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association (Thai GASMA).
Mr. Chaiwat added that the overall printing supplies in Thailand is worth approximately 50 billion baht, classified into materials used in printing businesses, packaging and materials for other industries such as electronics, ceramic, textile. There are around 800-1,000 manufacturers and suppliers in the industries in Thailand.
“The ‘GASMA PRINT 2014’ is also the platform for Thai printing materials firms, who are members of the Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association, to explore the opportunities for business connection, market expansion to neighboring Asean countries that will result in the strengthening of their businesses. This platform will certainly help the association’s small and medium-sized members who accounted for 70% of the 110 members and have combined sale 10-20 billion baht.”
Mr. Chaiwat said the organizer organized road-shows to promote the event and invite entrepreneurs of printing industries from neighboring countries such as Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. The road-shows were well accepted so it is expected that a total of over 7,000 domestic and international visitors to the fair, around 1,000 of them Asean.
Mr. Chaiwat concluded that the association has received full support from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau ((TCEB) in inviting foreign visitors to the fair through the projects “Connect Business” and “Be My Guest”, that will help facilitate the accommodation to foreign visitors.
