Tee Entertainment invades AEC market together with its partner “SKYNET TV” with complete strategy to become the number 1 in Myanmar
Tee Entertainment invades the AEC market for the first time with the partnership with Shwe Than Lwin Media, the management of SKYNET TV, Myanmar’s largest TV station in Paid and Free-to-Air TV format, in planning the complete business and marketing strategy to become the champion of Myanmar TV.
“Tee Matching” or Tee–Somchai Cheewasutthanon, is entering the media and program production as well as online market under the name Tee Entertainment Co., Ltd. announcing the vision to penetrates the AEC market under the name Tee Entertainment Co., Ltd. After the market a very detail study in the past 2 years, the company realized the potential and growth of media and public relations industry and, recently, the company has signed the partnership agreement with Shwe Than Lwin Media Co, Ltd. or SKYNET DTH, Myanmar’s number 1 Paid and Free-to-Air TV with the responsibility to mainly manage the production and co-manage the strategy, operation, and marketing of the company in order to expand the growing customer base in the future.
Tee–Somchai Cheewasutthanon, President of Tee Entertainment Co., Ltd., revealed that “We have registered the company under the name Tee International Myanmar in order to run our business in the country with complete sales and marketing team. Most recently, we have been selected as the strategic partner for SKYNET TV where we will be responsible for producing and selling the content and TV schedule for each of the program produced while SKYNET TV takes our programs to broadcast through its Paid and Free-to-Air TV with the split income of time sharing that 70% goes to Tee International Myanmar and 30% goes to SKYNET TV as the strategic partner. There have been agreement and offers for other media which would add the capability of SKYNET TV to ensure its superior over other TV networks including offering programs and work plan to agencies, mostly from Thailand, including both Thai and International brands.
Tee – Somchai added that “Tee International Myanmar” will start to produce TV program with 3 TV programs with 2 game shows and 1music review program which will be on air in quarter 4 this year on SKYNET TV Music, Teenage, and Sport channels, which are the most watched channels, at 19.00 – 23.00 hr. for each of the channel starting with Paid-TV and followed by Re-runs 2 weeks after on MNTV channel and Channel 9 (Free-to-air) at 19.00 – 23.00 hr. for the first phase. In 2015, the company is planning to produce Sit Com, Talk Show, and Soap Opera which still need to be considered in term of on-air time that Tee Entertainment and SKYNET TV agree plus the development on marketing strategy and content of the programs on MNTV channel and Channel 9 which are Free-to-air.
Furthermore, the company has also signed the business partnership agreement (MOU) with SKYNET TV in July 2014 to entitle Tee International Myanmar as the authorized partner to plan advertising and sell TVC spots for English Premier League to SKYNET TV. Moreover, the company has also been trusted as the sole operator for Below-the-Line or On-ground activities to support EPL in Myanmar plus some other extra programs on both paid and Free-to-Air channels.
“Both the Sponsor Package and Extra Programs of English Premier League (EPL) has been proposed to the customers with good feedbacks especially from international sponsors who are very interested. Furthermore, we have organized on-ground activities together with SKYNET TV and the sponsors such as outdoor live game sponsored by Myanmar national stadium or big activity areas for big matches such as the Manchester Derby Man United vs Man City or the Red Fight North West Derby Man United vs Liverpool plus add-on activities bringing the lucky viewers to watch EPL games in the UK. This is the first time that such activity is being held in Myanmar and it is believe that this activity will create the new experience for Myanmar viewers and it is expected to get very good feedbacks”.
Tee – Somchai also revealed that “The challenge of TV program production to Myanmar people is to truly understand the needs of Myanmar viewers. The programs needs to be related to the lifestyle of Myanmar people and reflects their preferences, priorities, not bombarding the viewers with too much content which does not mean producing obsolete programs as Myanmar people are very open. Market research needs to be done carefully to come up with quality information such as the behavior of Myanmar people that is similar to Thai people that they like to go to temples and make merit and being conservative. The most important thing about producing TV programs in Myanmar is to have good marketing and advertising plan. We need to bring Thai professionals to help at the beginning stage. These professionals will also transfer the know-how to the local people (Myanmar Team) in order to develop quality professionals to the market”.
In terms of business strategy in 2014, Tee International Myanmar has been focusing on domestic market with the expansion to Myanmar starting with TV commercials. However, in 2015, the company will invest heavily in penetrating international markets especially in AEC countries such as Laos and Cambodia, the markets which the company is studying at the moment in terms of culture, society, laws, economy, as well as customer behaviors which are completely different from country to country. Thus, business strategies need to be tailored made to match with the local requirements”.
