Sculpted to move you - both physically and emotionally, the Volvo S60 DRIVe Model Year 2013 is outstanding with its aerodynamic, stylish and energetic design that reflects the superior driving experience. The Volvo S60 DRIVe Model Year 2013 arrived in Thailand at the 29th Motor Expo with three new safety technologies namely Active High Beam, Road Sign Information and Tunnel Detection.
The Volvo S60 DRIVe is powered by the FlexiFuel 1.6 Lt engine that delivers high performance, fuel efficient and responsive while achieving its goal to reduce impact on the environment. The sedan comes with full package of innovative safety technologies, including the one that stops the car automatically before it hits a pedestrian and the standard technology that prevents the car from crashing into the one in the front.
The Volvo S60 DRIVe Model Year 2013 is available in DRIVe (B) and DRIVe (S) models which both come in attractive 5 colours including Flamenco Red Metallic, Ember Black Metallic, Electric Silver Metallic, Ice White and Seashell Metallic.
DRIVe – Volvo’s attempt to cut CO2 emission
S60 DRIVe E85 is a work under DRIVe program. The program looks into the entire process, from design to research, development, performance and ability to recycle parts at the end of vehicle life. This attempt leads to the development of no-emission vehicles and interesting technologies, including FlexiFuel and alternative fuel, aerodynamic design that effectively reduces friction for improved fuel efficiency, and new technologies for clean air in the passenger cabin.
In Thailand, Volvo cars which are powered by the innovative E85 engine under DRIVe programme have passed the test by Thailand Industrial Standard Institute (TISI) with extremely low emission, which is approximately 70% better than TISI standard.

The sporty design delivers a visual promise of enthusiastic driving characteristics and the S60 DRIVe truly lives up to that promise. The S60 DRIVe has been sculpted to move you. Every single line in its design is there to transport you both physically and emotionally. Its profile radiates so much coupe feeling that the rear doors come as something of a pleasant surprise when you examine the car close-up.
The front of the Volvo S60 DRIVe has a bold look given its outstanding front grille, bold Volvo mark and the position lamp. Virtually all the lines were penned to carve out the dynamic profile. The C-pillar of the S60 DRIVe stretches sensually all the way to the tail lamps - and the slim coupe-like roof line is accompanied by a new contour on the shoulders on either side of the lower body, creating a gentle yet powerful double wave from the headlamps at the front to the tail lamps at the rear.
Inspired by the dynamism of “Racing Track”, Volvo design team ensured dynamic lines in the new sporty sedan. The dip in the middle of the double wave visually pushes the car down. This enhances the stance and makes the car look sleeker and lower. The sculpted bonnet and the short overhangs front and rear also emphasize the sports car feel.
LED technology carves a distinctive S60 DRIVe profile in the dark
Volvo’s designers have also used LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology to create distinctive yet fluid light streams front and rear. The vertical position lights at the front, the eyebrow like side market lights, the turn indicators in the door mirrors, the position lights in the tail lamps all help give the new S60 DRIVes unmistakable profile even after night fall. The Active Bending Light also provides better vision as the light bends according to the steering position.
INTERIOR
Uncompromising sportiness with racing inspiration
Volvo's designers obtained their inspiration from the racing track as they pursued their hunt for uncompromising sportiness in the S60 DRIVe. The racing track's dramatic yet harmoniously flowing lines can be traced in almost every interior detail. The graphic character of the racing track is clearly apparent in the instrument panel and in the doors. The lines do not end abruptly but instead create an uninterrupted, continuous flow. In addition, Volvo Cars' designers have added in excitement, contrast and playfulness to the rational simplicity of Scandinavian design tradition.
For enhanced comfort, Volvo developed new sporty seats with even closer side support than before. The seat also offers greater vision for the driver. The rear seat is spacious and can accommodate three passengers. The beige colour scheme in the B version and Beachwood offblack colour scheme in the S version dominate the interior to create warm and relaxing atmosphere in the famous Scandinvian design which is “warm inside, cool outside”. In the
S version, the leather-clad steering wheel, Charcoal with silk metal inlay gives a more luxury look while the Speed Sensitive Steering offers greater comfort for the drivers. The B version also enjoys the leather-clad steering wheels, Charcoal
The S60 DRIVe Model Year 2013 comes with a new gear shift knob with better grip. The white decoration light enables it to illuminate in the dark. Drive modes are indicated directly on the top of the knob for driver to see easily.
Volvo Sensus - refined infotainment
Volvo Sensus is an excellent example of how Volvo Cars refines the driver environment. All information is presented on a five-inch screen (in B version) or seven-inch colour screen (in S version) in the upper part of the centre stack. The screen is positioned high up to make it easy for the driver to keep his or hers eyes on the road.
All the functions can be controlled via buttons built into the steering wheel or via touch buttons located just below the colour screen. The Volvo Sensus comes upgraded with the larger seven-inch screen that also displays information and images, phone, reversing camera (in S version), panorama camera (accessory) DVD player and so on.
The Bluetooth connection has been upgraded to allow not only hands-free phone conversations but also music streaming from a preferred Bluetooth enabled portable music player.
