Retailink Selects IBM to Enhance Retail Service Capabilities New solution takes Retailink to an entirely new level boosting Thailand’s retail service
Bangkok – 31 August 2011 – IBM Thailand Co., Ltd. announced today that Retailink, one of Thailand’s leading distributors and maintenance providers of retail equipment and management systems, has selected IBM’s enterprise asset management software to enable the company to offer ‘smart retail’ capabilities to its customers nationwide.
Retailink, a market leader in distribution and provision of parts and maintenance services for retail businesses as well as convenience store chains, is leveraging IT to plan and manage company assets across its supply chain. The company has already experienced significant improvements in service availability, efficiency, delivery planning and monitoring, and improvements to their maintenance capability for multiple devices and equipment in real-time, on a 24-hour basis.
Mr. Naris Thamkuekool, Vice President of Retailink (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said: “Our latest investment in the development of a comprehensive enterprise asset management solution from IBM will enable Retailink to better manage and plan our maintenance service operations as well as human resources management and enterprise-wide procurement. The newly implemented solution will also help maximize the performance and lifetime value of complex assets and closely align them with our business expansion strategy, especially in terms of proactive and reactive customer service delivery, and the ability to maintain service excellence.”
Mrs. Parnsiree Amatayakul, Managing Director, IBM Thailand Co., Ltd. said: “As customers become more informed, retailers today are forced to seek new technology and innovation to provide the highest level of customer service possible to increase their competitive advantage. IBM’s advanced solutions, and proven expertise has helped Retailink successfully address these new challenges and create new opportunities in the retail industry.”
The enterprise asset management solution provided by IBM includes the Maximo Enterprise Asset Management solution. Built on a single software platform, Maximo Asset Management delivers a comprehensive view of all asset types across the enterprise. This holistic perspective allows administrators to monitor the status of all assets and their performance in real-time, and automatically detects downtime, which enables administrators to develop comprehensive programs for preventive, predictive, routine and unplanned maintenance.
The solution includes high performance and ultra-flexible mid-sized database server IBM Power P740, servers from the IBM System X series and IBM Storage DS5020, which offers highly reliable storage for small and medium organizations.
Once completely installed and implemented, the technology from IBM will allow Retailink to:
• View, manage and monitor, with centralized control from headquarters, every asset installed in its customers’ retail outlets including performance, maintenance timeline and parts inventory to service status of technicians at every stage in the process and on a real-time basis.
• Effectively prevent every asset from possible downtime. The solution provides a comprehensive view of all assets with real-time data on performance and maintenance of each asset installed in retail outlets. Customers are automatically notified before each asset reaches its maintenance schedule or whenever it encounters downtime. Technicians can also receive work orders and related updated information of each request via PDA on a real-time basis. This enables Retailink to improve asset-related decision making and proactive maintenance service planning so that the company can much better serve its customers and save costs.
• Consolidate onto a single platform all of Retailink’s customer service teams’ information such as name, skills, expertise and experience of each technician for an organized and quick retrieval process Once a device downtime occurs, the system will analyze the problem and send a work order to the nearest customer service team with expertise and skills in that respective area.
• Enable Retailink management to plan and make decisions more quickly and effectively, decreasing costs and risks in asset management with the use of timely, accurate and all-inclusive information.
Retailink (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is a leader in system installation, integration and maintenance of heating and refrigeration machines such as microwave ovens, water heaters, refrigerators, soft drink vending machines, air conditioners, etc. for more than 6,000 convenience stores - including 7-Eleven - and retail outlets nationwide.
