ไทยยูเนี่ยน มอบชุดตรวจโควิด-19 จำนวน 2,200 ชุด ให้กับโรงพยาบาลธัญญารักษ์ปัตตานี สนับสนุนการตรวจหาเชื้อเชิงรุก

การบริจาคชุดตรวจโควิด-19 นี้ เป็นการสนับสนุนการทำงานของมูลนิธิรักษ์ไทย ที่ช่วยเหลือผู้ด้อยโอกาสในชุมชน และแรงงานข้ามชาติที่ทำงานในสะพานปลา อีกทั้งจังหวัดปัตตานีเป็นหนึ่งในแหล่งจัดหาปลาของไทยยูเนี่ยน ซึ่งการสนับสนุนชุดตรวจนี้ยังเป็นการดำเนินตามพันธกิจของบริษัทที่จะช่วยเหลือชุมชนในพื้นที่ที่บริษัทดำเนินธุรกิจอยู่อีกด้วย
นอกจากนี้การบริจาคนี้ยังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการริเริ่มจากรัฐบาลที่จะทำการคัดกรองเชิงรุกคนในชุมชนเพื่อช่วยจำกัดการแพร่กระจายของเชื้อไวรัส
นายธีรพงศ์ จันศิริ ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร บมจ. ไทยยูเนี่ยน กรุ๊ป กล่าวว่า “ถึงแม้จะเป็นเรื่องดีที่ได้เห็นจำนวนผู้ป่วยรายใหม่ในประเทศไทยลดลง แต่เชื้อไวรัสดังกล่าวยังคงสร้างความลำบากให้กับหลายชุมชนทั่วประเทศ ผมภูมิใจที่ไทยยูเนี่ยนได้มีส่วนในการแสดงบทบาทเล็กๆ แต่เป็นบทบาทที่มีคุณค่าอย่างมากที่ได้การช่วยเหลือชุมชนในพื้นที่ที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลือ และผมขอขอบคุณมูลนิธิรักษ์ไทยที่ทำงานอย่างทุ่มเทในการช่วยเหลือชุมชนในการระบาดที่กำลังมีอยู่นี้”
นางสาวณิชา พรรณจิตต์ เจ้าหน้าที่โครงการมูลนิธิรักษ์ไทย กล่าวว่า "จากสถานการณ์โควิด-19 ระลอก 3 ในประเทศไทย ได้สร้างความเสียหายให้กับชุมชนมากมาย มีผู้ติดเชื้อและผู้ที่สูญเสียรายได้จากการตกงาน เรารู้สึกขอบคุณบริษัทไทยยูเนี่ยนเป็นอย่างยิ่ง ที่สนับสนุนช่วยให้เราสามารถช่วยเหลือผู้ที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากการแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสโควิด-19 จำนวนมาก"
ภายใต้โครงการไทยยูเนี่ยนแคร์ ที่ได้เปิดตัวไปในช่วงเริ่มต้นของการระบาดครั้งใหญ่ ไทยยูเนี่ยนได้บริจาคอาหารมากกว่า 3.3 ล้านชิ้นทั่วโลก ผ่านหน่วยงานภาครัฐ องค์การนอกภาครัฐ มูลนิธิ และโรงพยาบาลต่างๆ รวมถึงการบริจาคอาหารแมวเบลล็อตต้าและอาหารสุนัขมาร์โว่กว่า 78,000 กระป๋อง และอาหารสุนัขชนิดเม็ดกว่า 4,000 กิโลกรัม ให้กับองค์กรการกุศล สถานพักพิงสัตว์เลี้ยง องค์กรชุมชน และอาสาสมัครดูแลสัตว์เลี้ยง
นายแพทย์อดิศักดิ์ งามขจรวิวัฒน์ ผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาลธัญญารักษ์ปัตตานี กล่าวว่า “ชุดตรวจโควิด-19 ที่ได้รับจากไทยยูเนี่ยนจะใช้สำหรับการคัดกรองและเฝ้าระวังในกลุ่มแรงงานข้ามชาติหรือผู้ที่ไม่มีสิทธิในระบบประกันสุขภาพ ซึ่งจะช่วยให้คนเหล่านั้นเข้าถึงบริการทางการแพทย์ได้อย่างเท่าเทียมกัน ซึ่งเป็นสิทธิขั้นพื้นฐานสำหรับทุกคนทั้งชาวไทยและแรงงานข้ามชาติ”
นอกจากความช่วยเหลือด้านอาหารแล้ว ไทยยูเนี่ยนยังได้บริจาคเครื่องผลิตออกซิเจนแบบอัตราการไหลสูง จำนวน 20 เครื่อง ชุดตรวจโควิด-19 (Antigen Test Kit) จำนวน 10,000 ชุด และเครื่องวัดออกซิเจนปลายนิ้ว จำนวน 10,000 ชิ้น โดยมีมูลค่ารวม 9.2 ล้านบาท ให้กับจังหวัดสมุทรสาคร เพื่อสนับสนุนการต่อสู้กับโควิด-19 รวมถึงการบริจาคเงินจำนวน 300,000 บาท ให้กับโรงพยาบาลสถาบันโรคไตภูมิราชนครินทร์เพื่อสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานของโรงพยาบาล ซึ่งการบริจาคเหล่านี้เป็นการสานต่อพันธกิจของไทยยูเนี่ยนในการช่วยเหลือชุมชน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นผู้คนและสัตว์เลี้ยงในพื้นที่ที่เรามีการดำเนินงานอยู่
Thai Union donates 2,200 Antigen Test Kits to Thanyarak Pattani Hospital to support rapid COVID-19 testing

The donations were made to support the Raks Thai Foundation, which supports disadvantaged people in the community and has also been helping migrants working in the fish market in Pattani district. Thai Union sources fish from local communities in Pattani and donating the test kits continues the Company’s long-standing commitment to support communities where it operates.
This donation is also part of a government initiative to proactively screen people in the community to help limit the spread of the virus. “While it has been encouraging to see the recent decline in the number of new COVID-19 cases across Thailand, the virus continues to cause hardship in many communities across the country,” said Thiraphong Chansiri, Thai Union CEO. “I’m proud that Thai Union continues to play a small but valuable role in supporting those local communities in need, and I want to thank the Raks Thai Foundation for their incredible work helping local communities during this ongoing pandemic.”
Nicha Phannajit, Program Officer with the Program Quality Department of Raks Thai Foundation said, “The third wave of COVID-19 in Thailand caused the loss of income and unemployment for many people. We are honored and grateful to Thai Union for helping people who have been suffering through the COVID-19 crisis.”
Under the global Thai Union Cares program, which was launched at the beginning of the pandemic, the Company has donated more than 3.3 million servings of food across the world, through government agencies, non-government organizations, foundations and hospitals. The company has also donated more than 78,000 cans of Bellotta and Marvo cat and dog food - as well as more than 4,000 kilograms of hard dog food - to animal charities, pet shelters, community organizations and animal volunteers.
Adisak Ngamkajornviwat, Director of Thanyarak Pattani Hospital said, “The antigen test kits from Thai Union will be use for screening and surveillance of migrant workers or people who have no access to health insurance. This will help those people have equal access to medical services as a fundamental right for everyone, both Thais and migrants.”
In addition to food servings, Thai Union has also donated 20 Hi-Flow Heated Respiratory Humidifiers, a further 10,000 Antigen Test Kits and 10,000 sets of Fingertip Pulse Oximeters worth THB 9.2 million to the Samut Sakhon government to support their fight against COVID-19, and THB 300,000 to the Bhumirajanagarindra Kidney Institute Hospital to support its operations. These donations continue Thai Union’s commitment to supporting those communities - both human and animal - where it operates.
